Hey all.

You may recall a recent "I am dragging" thread.

Anyway- I caught some type of bug- - it is very hard to describe.  Almost like an alergy-humidity-dreariness.

I have tried just about every type of pill- eating- not eating- sleeping- -

Any ideas??????

Have you tried "Airborne"  It seemed to work for me when I had the same thing.

Im into natural healing herbs and things, so it works for me.  I believe the echinacea and ginger are excellent  in the healing process.

According to the official website, Airborne contains a special blend of zinc, ginger, Echinacea and 13 other vitamins, minerals and herbs.[11] Each tablet of Airborne contains 5 calories. The complete list of ingredients is the following: However, it seems that Echinacea and vitamin C, the most commonly touted cold remedies, when tested in careful clinical studies, are ineffective in treating colds. Only Zinc, as a throat lozenge but not an effervescent tablet, has been effective in decreasing cold symptoms[16] and the effectiveness of Airborne based on the zinc compound is anyhow debatable given that a tablet contains only 10% of the daily recommended dose.

Ok-  thanks.  These ingredients are pretty standard for a vitamin.  I am pretty sure the vits- I am taking has all that.

It definitely needs to pass thru my system.  It is stuck.   Maybe a good night sleep.

Above all else sleep will definitely heal a lot of ailments, so hopefully that will do it.  Also sometimes I drink a lot of water with lemon in it, when I'm feeling run down.

And if you haven't heard of it, you probably haven't heard of the $23.3 million class-action suit they lost for false advertising.  Don't waste your money, you're better off taking vitamin C.

My doctor recommends that.

C'mon, hunk!  Give that iron immune system a thrashing and show it who's boss!

I've also heard of the Jack Daniels 2-Bottle Cure.  You get yourself all comfy in bed, with a bottle of Jack at your side.
Take a swig, and put the bottle at your feet.
Look at the bottle.
If you see one bottle, take another swig.
Repeat this process until you see 2 bottles.
Go to sleep.

Supposed to cure whatever ails you!

Avoid anything sweet. Rinse your nose often with water at an agreeable temperature. Just hold your nose under the tap and breathe in. You can also hold salt water in your hand and inhale that.

Today when I was out getting rxs- I asked the pharmacist.

She suggested Zytrec.

cetirizine hydrochloride tablets, 10 mg antihistamine.

Wow.  pricey.   The generic- is $1 a pill- pack of 5.  Each pill- says it will last 24 hours.

I took one an hour ago- and it is working.  I would buy more- based on the relief I now have.

Maybe another maker- other then CVS has a cheaper version of it.

Yeah forget the Airborne, I wouldnt want to make you part of the lawsuit, even though you stated all the ingredients are in your vitamins.  And to think a  lawsuit!!!! omg who isn't suing everyone today.  Zyrtec is another good one or claritin too, but they are very pricey.

I'll ask around as well, for me the Airborne definitely works, but I've tried many different things, even special blended teas from teavana.  Or the celestial brand has a lot of natural ones too.  Since your already taking all the ingredients in Airborne, maybe you should ask your doctor about the Zyrtec another one is Allegra, I don't know if they are both otc though.  I'll ask at the health food store as well.  Hope you feel better really soon though.

Allegra did not hit the spot for this bug.

I should have some clariton somewhere- the price had come down.  I am always buying stuff that I already have hidden somewhere in the house.

Fluids, rest and eat.

Every Monday due to my 17 hour work day I feel down.  Tuesday isn't much better, by Weds I'm recouping.  Anyway on a daily basis I take emergen-c multivitamin.  It really does help with the immune system.  Also helps that my father in law had a key in creating the base recipe when it first came out.

I do sneeze but I haven't really been sick with the flu for over 4 years now.

Doctor's take 1000mgs of vitamin C a day so they don't get sick from seeing their patients.  To me keeping it away to begin with is better than trying to get over it once you have it.
