I'd be happy if she would understand that setting a beer down does not mean I am done. She keeps pouring them down the drain.

A good, colorful way of letting her know you aren't done with it yet!

Holly I don't think 500 dollars for a handmade customized corset is to much to ask. 500 is what I payed for my last one, and I'm talking about real steal boning and stuff, not plastic or not one of those toy ones lingerie stores try to pass off as a corset.

Corsets aren't cheap. Specially not customized hand designed ones.

i can pretty much tell you...nope...i can definitely tell you..if i spent 500.00 on a corset.... ol Jim would shit.

Keep looking. You can get one a bit cheaper.

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: any one ever find any corsets that were comfortable enough to sit and drive in while properly laced? (8/20/2010 7:40:13 PM)

500 is a bit much when you can do a LITTLE shopping around and find one cheaper. Yes, the real deal. I cant remember her name, but I spoke with a poster once that made a corset and was willing to sell it to me for like 150, i think.

They apparently make ballet corsets, and it's for dancers, and they're more flexible in the ability to move in, an I'll do a search for those an see what falls out.

I would love to do old fashioned corset training... I would be willing to put up with the pain for the gain. But then again I am a masochist...

The entire process is supposed to be uncomfortable... otherwise just buy a "looks-like-but-isn't" a corset... will save you a bundle

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: any one ever find any corsets that were comfortable enough to sit and drive in while properly laced? (8/20/2010 7:47:33 PM)

I am looking for custom made, from the ground up, from how it laces,  IE does it lace in multiple places, will it let out to allow for possible weight gain and still fit, to the colors, and designs  and the fabrics used,  this isn't going to be an "off the rack that just happens to be something I want" It'll be 100 percent designed for me, with my input at every step of the way. I have a lady that soon as she's free will be working to design it with me, and I'll go to her and be fitted in person likely.

If someone wanted to do all that work and still sell it for 150, well they must be an angel or something lol, cause that's one hell of a lot of customizing for so little money.

She sold a majority of her stuff for that price. Her name escapes me, but if I can shake out of the medicated fog, and try to remember, I will. And yes. It was built from the floor up. By hand. Custom made. Store grade stuff.

Yes Kari, actually we're 2 hours away from San Fransisco. And that'd be neat to get an in person corset fitting, I am also curious about under busts and waist cinchers.

They're comfortable, in so far as it's not pinching and digging or anything like that, but eventually since I am a creature of comfort I just want out of the damned thing because I am tired of feeling squeezed and want to go back to just all hanging out  nude.

lol.

Now, people migth ask if this is so why do you want one? And that's because for hello kitty fashions I can wear,  I'd put up with it!

That and they do look stunning when fully laced and all decked out.

No, I don't intend to do waist training or tight lace training, This is a piece of wardrobe that will be worn Oh I dont know I am hoping 4 or 5 days a month, as an out an about item, with a shirt under it for coverage so my boobs are not   on display for  the general population, and then to fetish events, where my boobs certainly w/ill be featured prominently for the masses of that party.  It'll be worn more than "once in a while" as a fashion piece. I like the curves it gives me when I wear one, but it's a for the time wearing it thing and that's it until next time.

The regular, non-custom corsets will not ever be very comfortable for very long, this is true. But a custom-built corset should be comfortable. If it isn't, it was fitted improperly. With a budget of $500, a custom corset for that price DAMN well better be comfortable, or you got seriously ripped off!

If you want to play with corsets and don't intend to do serious long-term tight-lacing, don't bother spending more than $50-100 on one. You can get one with custom fabric for that much that will be more than good enough to play with and wear every once in a while. You don't need to spend more than that on a play corset.

Corsets are neat, I adore them, but they aren't toys. I don't intend to discourage you from getting a corset. Obviously, I love them and I've spent a lot of money, time and effort on wearing them, so I think they are great! But there is a lot more to wearing a corset every day than just wearing the corset every day. :)

If you are anywhere near San Francisco, Romantasy Corsets are awesome and will do in-person fittings as well as offer direct, personal, individual-specific advice and help in building good corsets for you. They are smart, know what they are doing, and know how to make it work for just about anyone. Following their advice gives a pretty good certainty of avoiding the problems associated with corsets, both the serious health problems and the discomfort and pain problems. http://www.romantasy.com/ They will offer some advice over email, and their website has a lot of good advice in it as well. Another good website to read: http://www.staylace.com/

Because I'll be wearing this to places like my school , therapy, everyday out and about, I do not feel it's appropriate to have my boobs on display for every day people like my teacher, my therapist or the sales clerk where we're shopping. Or those I happen to be walking past.

Also if you're tallr than me the sweet heart cut, tends to allow people to see down my corset and into my boobs a bit, That's also not in my opinion appropriate to expose everyday people to. And yes they probably see worse with how people dress with tits and ass and all assundary almost not covered up, but I don't believe it's appropriate.

Also the guy that sold me my first corset, he said it'd be wise to have a thin shirt or something under your corset, to not only protect the item from sweat and skin oils, but to protect YOU from getting friction burn from being laced up, if you're skin is sensitive.

Also if you like corsets but you don't like having all your fat and flabby skin on display, like I don't, then a shirt gives you a bit of both worlds, being laced up and looking sleek, but not having your fatty pasty flesh all on display.  And I think I don't know this for sure, that it'd look pretty if you got a coordinating color.

Sure:)

As for wearing a t-shirt UNDER your corset...whatever for? Yes, wear an "under corset" item of clothing for many reasons,  but have it cut to show off the twins!

I really don't want to post my photos here, but I'm happy to send them to you if you message me on the other side.

Wearing corsets can be fun and it's not nearly as horrible as some folks would have you think! One added benefit is that you don't feel like eating a bunch of food whilst nicely laced! I've lost at least 40 pounds from it.

Yes, I have this and it is so comfortable...

That's not a corset, it's gift wrap.

And yes, a custom corset made to your measurements can be very comfortable.

LOL You are right, stef, it is more like gift wrap. [;)]

And have them be comfortable to siting and drive in and hang out in? I was thinking It'd sure be interesting to wear my corset as an every day item, running out and about town, but even not laced up very tight, it's still to rigid, what with the steel boning, to sit comfortably in, and I know I am a big baby about comfort, but if it's not comfortable I'm not wearing it. And also, do any of you know any one in Sacramento who'll do a custom made Hello Kitty corset in a plus size for something reasonable, say along the line of 500$$? And of course naturally I assume there's no need for a bra? And yes I am aware that when wearing it regularly or for a long period of time you may want a light cotton shirt on under it, I'd do that anyway since I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it as everyday wear with out a shirt on under.
And no, I'm not doing waist training, I am just bored with the everyday and want something a bit more exotic, and hell I payed 500 dollars for it I want to get to wear it more t han a next to never, before I out grow it.

Oh and while wearing an under shirt, how in the world do you reach in and lift the breasts up like they should be, before the final cinching? Normally with no top on, you'd just reach down the top of your corset, handle the boobs till they're the way you want or need them, and finish up. But you can't just go sticking your hand an arm down the neck of a shirt, inside a corset.

FR
No.  And I love the shit out of corsets, but frankly, unless you were raised wearing one, fugeddaboudit!

You are 100% correct, my dear!  That is NOT a real corset.  Let's face it, girls, corsets were NOT made for comfort.  They were made for body modification which is never easy nor comfortable.

So dispel all your imagined beliefs on that aspect!  Do so now!  Don't expect the benefits of a corset without the pain of a corset.  If you just like the way they look, just spend a couple bucks on a bustier, don't waste money on buying a real one!

Terribly sorry but I must disagree. I wear a tight-laced corset, yes a real one with over a dozen thick steel bones in it, daily, and have for years. Mine are ALL comfortable (except my one cheap play corset). I wasn't born wearing one, I started when I was 23 years old.

It isn't easy but it is NOT painful. If the corset is painful, it either is not a proper fit, it was poorly designed, or it was laced up incorrectly. Every single real corsetier that I have spoken to, every other tight-lacer I've known, has said the same exact thing. I have NO idea where you get the idea that corsets are pain, but it is flat-out wrong.

I've dropped four inches off my waist in four years with no pain. I'm not imagining it in the least. No pain. It is NOT supposed to hurt. Even with all the activities that I do in the corset, it still does not hurt.
