ORIGINAL: Kirata ~ FR ~ "Perceptions" is an apt title for this thread... The report (here) in Time, if that's the source the OP is working from, does not in fact say that "more than a third of conservative Republicans" think Obama is a Muslim, or (clue) that 89% of all respondents who think Obama is a Muslim also think Sarah Palin is a nuclear physicist. Actually, it says among other things that a majority of Americans would have no problem with a community center and mosque two blocks from their home, and think that Muslims are patriotic Americans. In fact, the percentages reported are higher than Obama's approval rating! The article references an Abt SRBI poll conducted August 16-17 which hasn't yet been released on the Abt SRBI website (link). K. I learned with your last thread, Kirata, that it is important to click on the links you post, and not just take what you say for granted And in reading the first link, it doesn't say anything (that I could read, but I'm working, so just skimmed) about Sarah Palin. And in the second link you posted. Speaking Republican-wise (and as much as the rest of his family is unpopular) my vote would go to Jeb. While it does restore (some) of my faith in what Americans believe...it was still fun poking fun. And indeed...perceptions are always what makes things interesting. This section of the forum kinda shows us that all the time!
