cuckoldmepls -> Jobless Claims Rise to Highest Level in 9 Mths (8/19/2010 8:50:08 AM)

This administration supports Illegal Immigration, and free trade despite the fact that Obama lied to the American people and said they would at least renegotiate NAFTA. Then they passed financial reform, but mysteriously excluded Fannie Mae and Fredie Mac from tightening credit restrictions to prevent another mortgage collapse. Why would you think anything would improve??? I knew this was going to happen. The retail stores had a terrible Christmas, and there was no possible way they could hold on to their employees for the entire year. It's only going to get worse folks.

Now, it's obvious to the corporations that Obama is a socialist, and they are not going to support this guy either. They aren't going to do any more hiring than they have to. It's over folks. You better start stocking up on food, ammunition, water purifiers, and toilet paper:)

I said this from the very beginning. It's better to endure 15% unemployment for the next few decades than to go the socialist route. Socialism is only one step away from communism, and when you take away the greed factor, economies collapse because no one works any harder than they have to. All socialism does is create a welfare state.

But its equally obvious to the corporations that teabaggers, neo-cons and whatnots are facists which is bad for them as well.

And was pointed out, business creates the bulk of long term jobs, not governments.

And a great number of that unemployment rise is government workers out of work, due to budget cuts, which I think is exactly what you want. Less government.  So, obviously the communist businesses are somehow not creating the jobs here, and you should be putting the stick to them, huh?

Actually, corporations love tea baggers, because tea baggers support free markets. I don't support free markets myself. Tea baggers also oppose any unconstitutional taxes or unreasonable restrictions on corporations such as excessive cap and trade legislation.

The fact is, most liberals are jealous of corporations but corporations turned this nation into a superpower. If you are anti corporation, then you are anti American.

I think the million dollar salaries and bonuses are insane too, but greed is what drives capitalism. I'm jealous of movie and tv stars too that make millions for one month of work or a million dollars per episode, but this is what makes America great.

Even if you don't get lucky and make it big, as long as capitalism is in working order, and government is under control, you can always find a job and pay your bills if you are willing to live within your means. If not, you can lose your home like the other idiots.

Yes, our ability to turn our culture into a quivering mess of celebrity worshipping droolers is the envy of the world.

You seem confused. Is America in the shit or great? Take a position besides inanity.

Read some history. Corporations created quite a mess before Teddy started to address it.

Hey, wasn't he a Republican?

mnottertail -> RE: Jobless Claims Rise to Highest Level in 9 Mths (8/19/2010 9:24:20 AM)

That is the loosest conflagration of illogical fallacies and unsupported middles I have ever seen on these boards, bar none.............

And there isn't even any anecdotal evidence for this fantasy.  Perhaps you could toss me a bone here, and provide generally agreeable public documents (which they must be) of the corporate contributions to teabaggers?

And gee whiz, I thought it was individual freedoms.

By your own definition, this makes you anti-corporation and anti-American.

Think things through for once. Take whatever position you wish, but think it through first.

Incidentally, these are under discussion for reorganization/restructuring as we speak. The stated goal is fundamental change.

Good thing Obamas not off on another vacation, and hes maintaining his laser-like focus on creating and saving millions of jobs.

quote:

Spike in layoffs feeds fear of faltering recovery

WASHINGTON – Layoffs are back, and that's bad news for the fragile economic recovery.

New applications for unemployment benefits hit a nine-month high last week — a spike that suggests private employers may shed jobs this month for the first time this year.

Workers are losing construction jobs in Georgia and manufacturing jobs in Indiana. Some of the layoffs are coming as stimulus money dries up and public works projects come to a halt. Government employees are being let go, too, as states and cities grapple with budget crises.

Without more jobs, consumers will not feel secure enough to spend much money, further slowing the economy. The grim outlook has economists lowering their estimates for growth in the second half of the year. And on Thursday it led to a sell-off on Wall Street led by investors worried that the United States could tumble back into recession.

"Today's news on the economy has been nothing but awful," Paul Ashworth, an economist at Capital Economics, wrote in a note to clients. "The recovery is clearly slowing."

thornhappy -> RE: Jobless Claims Rise to Highest Level in 9 Mths (8/19/2010 5:31:33 PM)

The last I saw, we haven't had free markets for 100 years.

BTW, what cap and trade?  It's not even been passed (if they're done writing it yet) and

"The idea began as a middle-of-the-road Republican plan to unleash the market to reduce power plant pollution and spur innovation. But when lawmakers tried to apply the concept to the far more pervasive problem of carbon dioxide emissions, it ran into gale-force opposition from the oil industry, conservative groups that portrayed it as an economy-killing tax and lawmakers terrified that it would become a bonanza for Wall Street traders and Enron-style manipulators. "

Would you advocate any cap and trade legislation (which would be a market solution, after all)?

Like Every Administration, White House Defends Obama "Vacation"
Posted by Mark Knoller

This is Mr. Obama's 9th vacation since taking office. As of today, he has spent all or part of 38 days on "vacation" away from the White House. He has also made 14 visits to Camp David spanning all or part of 32 days. It brings his total time away to all or part of 70 days.

You and your party could care less about the unemployed as evidenced by Republicans irresponsible behavior. Republicans continue to destroy the economy and you blame Obama, wow.

Obama attacks Republicans for stalling on jobs bill

US president Barack Obama has fired a broadside at Republicans for holding up a jobs bill after new unemployment figures delivered more bad news on the American economy.

An angry Mr Obama lashed out at Senate Republicans for holding up a jobs bill.
"It's obstruction that stands in the way of small business owners getting the loans and the tax cuts they need to prosper. It's obstruction that defies common sense," Mr Obama said.

I fucked this up but the next one was about foreign call takers.

That's what I saw. Make sense now ? They will pay foreigners to answer the phone but not us. And they will pay the phone bill to do it ?

"They", that they that supposedly doesn't exist wants us to sell off every goddam thing in this country. We are still going down until the rich go down. This is a class was war, plain and simple. It's been clear to me for years.

Watch people, as they force people together who do not want to be. This fosters intercine strife, which is exactly what they want. They have perfected the divide and conquer routine by acting in the opposite, by throwing us together.

Look man, here is the deal. If you are playing a game and losing, there is is obviously another palyer. Who they are and all that can wait. Until and unless you fucking realize it though you will be losers. Get it ?
