Brain -> Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/19/2010 10:57:15 PM)

"As we have seen over and over again in videos that show Sharron Angle saying that she wants to end Social Security and Medicare, it turns out that this has been a passion of hers going back to as early as 1993".

I wonder if Nevada's elderly voters are aware of this fact?

Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security

As we have seen over and over again in videos that show Sharron Angle (R-NV) saying that she wants to end Social Security and Medicare, it turns out that this has been a passion of hers going back to as early as 1993.

In an angry letter that Sharron Angle wrote to Senator Reid (D-NV) in 1993, she really showed her dislike for Social Security, Health Care, the Endowment for the Arts, Bill Clinton and Senator Reid.

Did you read the letter, "Brain"? I did. I couldn't find a mention of social security. perhaps you could point it out to me.

Do you have what the law calls "a reasonable expectation of privacy" when writing to your Senator. Perhaps one of the lawyers on here could tell us whether or not it would be a felony for Reids office to release/print such a letter. If legal, do you think it proper for your Senator to publish your letters to him?

<Sigh>

pahunkboy -> RE: Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/20/2010 5:34:40 AM)

Oh Hell NO.

Can 1 person do that?

Maybe Bernanki could.   HA~!

Let "them" eat cake!

THELADY -> RE: Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/20/2010 5:59:09 AM)

not only publish them, he can lie about them and the media will repoet what he says as fact. After all they never taken claimed to be fair and ballanced.

Oh and reid is aginst the mosque ooops sorry "community center" (in the middle of a business comunity) but that's ok, obama excused him for saying so, its ok to say or do anything because he has to get elected.

I’m not a lawyer to know privacy laws. I watched the video. Did you watch the video? I saw her say she wanted to end it along with other programs. She said it and it’s not debatable period …………. Case closed.

Harry Reid must be getting awful nervous.

Brain -> RE: Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/20/2010 10:39:09 PM)

There is a long way to go and anything can happen. I think the more people know about Angle and her dangerous positions on issues like Social security and Medicare the less likely she is to get elected.

Actually I think Sharon Angle is the nervous one now since she is avoiding the media and avoiding answering questions like “What do you mean by second amendment remedies?” Is she advocating shooting people?

I think Angle has a lot to be nervous about.

Sharron Angle's Racist Tea Partier Problem

Since tea party leader Mark Williams' racist rejoinder to the NAACP ignited into a national scandal, other members of the movement have been clamoring to disown Williams and disavow his inflammatory remarks. But as tea partiers have distanced themselves from the conservative talk show host and political operative, will tea party darling Sharron Angle, whose campaign has very close ties to Williams, follow suit?

Sharron Angle’s Seemingly-Bizarre Crusade Against Black Football Uniforms

Angle’s opposition to what she considered “Satanic” black football jerseys is actually emblematic of her worldview, political agenda

LAS VEGAS – Somebody’s lying. And pretty much everyone not named Sharron Angle or on Sharron Angle’s payroll thinks it’s Sharron Angle.

After a handful of stories about Angle’s fierce opposition at the beginning of her political career to the Tonopah High Muckers’ inspirational use of black football uniforms – a story first appearing in the Pahrump Valley Times last Thursday that Angle’s campaign blew off as unimportant to the LA Times Monday while offering no clarification, explanation or denial – Angle said yesterday she had a “different recollection” of the events that transpired. (Spokeswoman Ciara Mathews later said Angle had “no recollection” of the incident.)

I know it's hard to tell from the threads he starts, but brain doesn't live in the US, so he doesn't have a senator to write to.

Dingy Harry has not polled above 50%, and when an incumbent cannot do that in what his party euphemistically and/or hopefully calls an anti-incumbent year, then, yeah, I agree: he's awful nervous; if by "awful nervous" you mean "scared shitless".

joether -> RE: Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/22/2010 12:25:07 AM)

If Nevadains are totally brain damaged, they'll vote Sharron Angle. If they want to have a chance of getting federal work projects and such their way, they'll vote Reid. Its simple math if they think about it. Their state is suffering the worst economic downturn, with the highest unemployment of the nation. So, they hire Sharron Angle, and Democrats just make sure spare federal dollars go to....other projects. If they keep Senator Reid, they'll have more pull in Washington, to get federal dollars/projects to come their way.

As much as people bitch about pork spending, everyone seems to turn a blind eye, when their state is getting some. Maybe Nevadains can remeber which party game them the crappy economy the President has been working to fix in November. Doubtful of conservatives, as they seem a pretty ignorant bunch (they are voting for Sharron Angle after all).

Hippiekinkster -> RE: Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/22/2010 12:35:48 AM)

That Angle bitch has worms in her brain.

truckinslave -> RE: Sharron Angle letter to Sen. Reid in 1993 demanding he kill Social Security (8/22/2010 12:52:56 AM)

Actually, the pork barrel thing makes a lotta sense. So does the anti-encumbent analysis, and what seems to me to be the perfectly obvious fact that they both have virulent foot and mouth syndrome. Wonder which one can campaign the hardest by saying the least?

I hate to point this out Keanu, but both Clinton and Bush won elections with less than 50% of the popular vote.

All three elections you reference had significantly greater third-party competion than Sharron/Reid face, and this in spite of the trumped-up fake Tea Party candidate Reid is running.

The guy really is beating his own record for dirty tricks (Cornhusker Kickback, La Purchase, etc.) He's morally corrupt and some, perhaps a majority of Nevadans, know it.

Interesting trivia question: What two-term President never won a majority in a national election?

Personally, I think he's shitting bricks. It must be blowing his mind that a woman the left derides so much, is leading him in some polls, and equal to or within the margin of error in others.

I'm laughing too. I think it's a good thing for politicians to shit bricks now and then.

On the plus side, if she were to actually win, I might get to see real examples of human implosion from the fringe. And damn, who would want to pass up a front seat on that kind of event?

You sorta defeat your own hypothesis by first indicating how deep their economic woes are, then stating the best thing they can do is put back the man who took them there.

Now that is sound thinking.
