If you are considering a tattoo of Chinese or Japanese characters do some research first, or you might have one that means, "prepaid phone card".

An engineer friend I had that was born in Taiwan said his favorite one said "Gullible white boy". He said that was actually pretty common in Miami.

Years ago I was drinking in the Village in NYC and thought it would be a good idea to head over to China town to get a Chinese symbol tattoo. In the basement of a building on Mott street I asked a guy who didn't speak English for a tattoo of a Chinese character that meant "Strong & Swift".

I know have This image on my ass.

Vendaval,

From George Carlin's New Rules 2006

"New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you
spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to "beef with
broccoli." The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you
weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You were just high."

One of the reasons the man was so funny is that is was so often insightful.
