my boyfriend and i always have had interesting names for each other. Of the earliest of what i can remember, I called him "honey bun" (pretty standard i guess) and he called me "miss big butt you can see from the front" (its from a Mos Def song. If i could link it i would, but googling it would work if you are interested). now we just call each other "daddy-o" and "hot mama" since we are involved in our local 50s/Jazz/Rockabilly communities. He called me a very...different one when i was cooking last night: "English French-fried tater tot". i got the English part immediately, considering that's where i was born. The tater tot i had no clue what it was until later(i had refused to eat public school lunch), but he said he just threw it out there. and the French part surprise me- i thought he was making a reference to my cooking style, but actually, he found out from my mum that I am of both French-Dominican as well as French-Hatian background.
