You know new people come here every day and some start off badly, being overly sensitive and defensive, and not listening at all.

Others, learn to understand the rhythms that go on in a message board.

And even more people understand when you join a group already in session, you don't act like a stuffed shirt with a stick up your ass, you try and gauge the temperature of the waters.

Otherwise, instead of swimming with the dolphins, you get eaten by sharks.

Capishe? (is that how you spell that?)

Myles -> RE: greetings ladies (8/20/2010 10:42:44 AM)

yeah you spelled it right it seems I came here to possibly meet another and all I get was put downs and such a friendly group for sure

sexyred1 -> RE: greetings ladies (8/20/2010 10:45:49 AM)

Myles, Myles, Myles...

I am only being patient with you because you are a fellow NJ-ite.

Many people are here because we want to meet another. That has nothing to do with the forum. The forum is not expressly for meeting people for dating. It is a message board, topics are discussed, laughter ensues.

It is the sign of a very thin skin to not take a joke. You are only being put down because you are being annoyed by the jokes.

That is what goes on here and seriously? It is a very friendly group here, believe me.

poise I have 30+ plus years as a Dominant real time I know all I need to know, listening to others expouse their theorys on this and that is all well and good but there are pros and cons to everything. one thing Ive learn online is that WAY too many folks take themselves WAY too seriously and all that is said should be taken with a grain of salt. when I first went real time a friend of mine (pro Domme) told me in BDSM D/s there is no right way there is no wrong way, its all what you make it, kind of like all roads lead to Rome, some are just rougher than others, I have also found that online is truly a plethura of varied opinions, which I stated my thoughts on earlier folks her think I may be to serious and uptight which believe me is not the case they just make theirminds up before jumping into the pool so to speak.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: greetings ladies (8/20/2010 11:02:11 AM)

Well, Myles, feel free to change our minds.

Here on the interwebs, all we have is the typed word to go by. And with your many years of experience, it seems that you have not gained the skills of how to make yourself seem friendly to strangers. I can only hope that you are more welcoming in person.

Myles -> RE: greetings ladies (8/20/2010 11:04:18 AM)

perhaps indeed it is the medium in which this is , online loses many things in translation for sure

What do you think has been lost here? What can you do to change that? There are a whole slew of folks who are NOT getting your message which says...it's the message that is skewed.

OK.  Maybe I'm not getting the entire picture here (I blame the funnier posts for distracting Me) but I'm seeing thirty + years in the lifestyle, and having trouble meeting people for five.  Des is right on this.  The common denominator is you.  I'll let out the part about My thinking on the rest of the math.

Obviously, your methods aren't helping you.  Lushy is spot on.

A lot of people who want to have fun are going to gravitate to fun people.  At this point, there are a number of folks on this thread who are appearing fun, with a good sense of humor in opposition to pulling teeth to get to know someone.  If it were you, who do you think you'd have more interest in meeting?
