I seen a board where when one likes a post one can click on a thank button- it then lists the names of the people who liked that post.

Too bad we cant get that feature on this board.

Alot of posts are neat- and while I may not have a comment- it would be nice to acknowledge that said post.

I wonder if this is possible?

Have you seen features on other boards you like or do not like?

The net is a fluid thing- so do tell.

How much would you be willing to pay for the software upgrade?

With Internet 2 coming- and constant upgrade- Google and so forth- other features are not necessarily an added expense.

Maybe tho the thank feature is copyrighted and that could be a problem.

If- the govt cracked down on the net so bad- that CM had to be a paid service- I might go along with that.

I don't really even know what it would cost- but CM I am sure pays plenty for the bandwidth.

Surprisingly too- with not the clutter most anyplace has.

The one silver board- has a feature that same person can not reply more then 3x in a thread. I HATE that feature.

You mean the facebook "likes this comment" button? I think it's sort of silly myself. Either I comment or I don't.

First, Internet2 is already here and has been for over a decade.  It's just not what you think it is.

Second, "Google and so forth" have nothing to do with this forum's software.

Third, decent forum software that can handle this amount of traffic and features costs money.  You pay even more money for additional functionality in the forum software.  It's a lot like buying a car, you pay for all the extra bells and whistles, they don't come for free.

I sometimes praise people for their post.

Infrequently I receive a cmail from some people who express admiration for one of my posts.

I do not see the need for such a button - and it might actually lower the quality of posts that are praised, and might even be abused.
