OK I peeked at your profile since I could not tell by the BDU's whether you were Army or a Marine.  Regardless Thank You for your time served.  Knowing that there are a shit-load of ex-military amongst us I would suggest we should start our own "Strategy & Tactics" forum.  I don't miss the petty bullshit of day-to-day military existence, but I miss those all-nighters with my buddies at the  Denny's  in Fairfield Ca., drinking coffee and discussing assorted things.

Hell we even came up with an idea for our own home made "cruise missile", detailed all the way to a  projected cost of about 20k per unit, during one of our talks.

I did not know which branch of the service he was before I perved his profile, so I let him know as to why. Regardless he has served honorably and deserves all our thanks.  I on the other hand was US Air Force and never saw any "action" unless you count the occasional "bar brawl" at the NCO club as such.

First, Welcome Praetorian. *grins*

Second -- Well, the Air Force is changing. My son said that they've done away with the "Chair Force". He's doing his Basic this year, and before he even leaves, they've got him going to PT 4 days a week. *LOL* They've also prepared him for deployment to "hostile zones" (he's going into intel, though, so he sort of expected that).

I thank you for your service as well.  Many know that I come from military stock (past and present) and appreciate everyone who puts on a uniform for this country.  I also like to make it known that, while I was not in the armed forces, I did make sure to show my "gratitude" to several servicemen in my day. 

*going to college near Quantico helped make me part of the voluntary Domestic USO... of sorts*
