So yesterday, gabbed on phone over hour with neighbor- then went over and tried to fix her hopeless computer. No luck.

So she made me a sandwich- and then peanut butter ice cream. I blurted out- "dont buy this type of ice cream anymore". Foot in mouth me. The thing was so sugary it was like shock to the body.

So all night I am fretting- why did I say that.

So this morning I cooked her up a steak and veggie platter.... modest and bland- but I sent that over-

So I hope that makes up for my foot in mouth.

We have a great repore and I do not want to ruin it.

If you have known her a while I am pretty sure she "knows" you.

She will probably make allowances.

Seriously, this is probably one of those times where you made much more of it than she did. I wish my neighbors would worry about something that small and send me a steak. They don't even tell me when they cut my phone line which runs through an easement in their yard.

Steven,

she is 76, my "elder".

It came off as ungreatful.

I think it will blow over.

BTW- if my phone cord gets cut- I will go wild!~ Wow.

I love that we send food back and forth. Because I often do not want to shop and deal with it. But I insist on taking my turn- because it is only fair.

She has had me over to lunch a batch of times. Nothing fancy- but on some bad days for me where I could not put the thought together to think what I could eat. (ie when my potassium was low)

Poor bastard had health issues, i guess.

LOL. I did. At church with her I asked the lady why we prayed for the Jews but not the Arabs.

Being new to that church crowd-I spoke out of turn.

I wish I had more neighbors like her. Being that neither one of us has kids- we have that in common- so block concerns- we can discuss- - we both own- so that too.

Singles stick out in a family type of neighborhood.

I would rather live among the retired- but that costs more to live across the river.

I think of it this way, If it was your Mother you would have said the same thing, (maybe?) so say it to her that way. Like, "I hope I didn't offend you about the ice cream, I'm just so close to you I feel like I could say anything" or just blow it off, I'm sure she feels the same about you, and didn't take it to heart. I've said so much shit I should have my lips welded shut. I think you're just such a really good person, that even that bothered you, and that makes up for the foot in mouth.
