cplwantsslaves -> Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 7:50:12 AM)

My question is.....if you posted in your profile that you wanted to find a master in a time period of a month or less, and a dominant asked you the following question....Isn't that just a bit of a rush to pick a master? a month?......would you take it as an insult, or a question of concern for your safety if asked by a dominant??

bandit25 -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 7:53:02 AM)

Well, I certainly wouldn't take it as an insult.  But, I can't ever imagine putting a time limit on something like that.  A month might be enough time if you find the right one immediaely, but chances of that are slim and none.  I would imagine that the dominant would be asking out of concern.

twicehappy -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 7:54:24 AM)

I would take it as a question of concern, as the dominant asking the question i would also be asking why you felt the need to do this so quickly.

littleone35 -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 7:59:04 AM)

I wouls see it as a question of concern. I was in no rush to find a Master i knew when the time was right i would find him and i was right.  It took about a year but now i am happily collared.  Finding a master i don;t think can be rushed should not put a time limit on it it will happen when it is right.

this wouldn't be a slave from the slave training outfit on the east coast would it?

Ignoring that I, too, think it's a bad idea to put a time limit on such things, I'd say that IF I put a statement out there, I WOULD find it insulting for someone to second guess me. At least at first. But then, I'm stubborn and often do things the hard way. LOL Hopefully, even though the message pissed me off, I'd think about it and change my mind.

I would ask...what's the rush?

gooddogbenji -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 8:22:21 AM)

I have to disagree with most people here.  IF I decided that I want a Master in a month, and I wrote that in my profile, then that would be exactly what I want.  I know what I want, and every Dom should understand that.  Why should a Dom second guess what I want?  So yes, I would be very insulted to have a Dom suggest that I don't know what I'm doing.

That having been said, I don't think it's necessarily the smartest course of action and can be put somewhere in the area of a no limit slave.  Perhaps they know what they're doing, but more likely they don't.

Yours,

benji

I can't imagine even responding to a post containing something that I wouldn't even consider as good as a red flag, that sounds more like a red warning flares or something to me.

If something in it triggered some mercy, I might send off a list of books that I thought might bring them a dose of reality or a short response telling them something along the above lines.

*shrugs* I'd simply conclude that s/he was trying to understand why I put a time limit on myself in the first place.

Reasonable -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 8:50:46 AM)

I'd tend to see this as a reg flag indicating some sort of a mental issue.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 8:55:51 AM)

I'd take it as concern, if perhaps misguided (after all, you put it on your profile so you obviously feel it's fine, who am I as a net stranger to impose my questions and thoughts without invitation?)

Oh, and who cares what their orientation is?

I'd take it as a question.  The intent is not material.  Had I posted such a profile, my response probably would be along the lines of "Yes, but I feel lucky... Mr. Eastwood."

BitaTruble -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 9:56:42 AM)

Oh, I'd probably feel like it was some stranger butting their nose into my business. What if everyone did that? You get a couple of hundred thousand emails from strangers? No one knows the circumstances or reasons for the information in the profile, so unless you are actually interested in getting into the situation I'd say self-gag and leave that person alone.

girl has been on collarme for sometime now, has read the boards and when she is interested in a Doms profile she reads it carefully in hopes that she may find the right one for her. she has things in her profile that she gets questions about, for example: "How can a slave OWN an internet radio station?"

girl replied to that question with the following: "girl was at one time collared. her Master and her talked about the station idea for quite sometime and when she begged release He told her she could keep the station seeing she was the one paying for it and getting dj's as well as doing promotions for His book. girl bought the air time, has dj's and is proud to share her music."

girl didn't take this as He thought she shouldn't own the station, just that He was curious to know how it is a slave could come to own such a thing.

personally, girl would take this question as the Dominant was worried that you may be rushing yourself into finding a Master and may get hurt, but then again that is just girls opinion.

Blessed Be

greetings,

personally this girl considers that a time limit to "find" a Master, is a nonsense, and like other readers, I would tend to see that as a red flag.  Whether it be online or real time, it is a receipe for disaster.

I think i would be tending to tread very carefully around such a submissive, or maybe even giving her a wide berth ... I see it as needy and a submissive who lacks discernment ... well that's my two cents worth!

I would take it as a concern for my safety if it were said politely, and if it were referring to a real life dom rather than online. I would think once you have met someone online that you are considering it would take at least a month to get to know him and to meet in real life and then decide he is the one you want to submit to. And that doesn't include the time it takes to  find that person online.[:)]

moon69 -> RE: Aa question for all...subs and dominants as well (4/21/2006 2:57:01 PM)

As a sub, I for one would not have made a post like that.  I mean we'd all love to have a Domme drop in our laps...RIGHT THEN AND THERE  ... lol!  But I digress....
As a sub, if I HAD made a post such as that...I wouldn't be insulted in the least for answering a question of an"interested Domme".  I mean, would you get pissed off if she/he asked you "what do you like?" or "where are you located?"....I dont thinks so.  We are not mind readers and questions of any kind should be welcomed so further discussion of just how exactly the 2 of them can manifest a BDSM, or any type, of relationship. Bottom line....If they get pissed at a question, or having to supply an answer in depth or not, easy.........  BUBYE!  Enjoy your hand, bucko! (*or toots, is they are female)

A question of concern.  Though if i were Dom i probably would never have even written to the person.  Seems a big red flag to me.
