I have played with both genders, and find that there is a sexual component to my play, but I can keep it to play and get enough gratification out of that. Biting, specifically, is for me a sexual act as well as an aggressive and sadistic act. I will not bite anyone I would not be in or am not currently in a sexual relationship in; conversely, I will not have sex with someone I cannot bite. It's just not as fun. Sadistic play, however, seems to fill up something inside me that is next to sexuality; I have been in situations where I could have sex with a willing and attractive partner after play, and my answer was "No thanks, I'm already full," just as it would be to a late supper had I spent the evening snacking. I wouldn't want to substitute that for actual sexual interaction all the time, but every now and then it works fine.
