Status: offline 		I have been in the lifestyle approximately 13 years now and have been looking for a TPE for about 5 of those years.  However, I have found that either I get responses from those that are not realistic.  In that they believe you can scene 24/7.  Or the other is that I find those that are only contacting me for "Play dates" or "Sessions'.

Status: offline 		Part of the reason is numbers- at least in the heterosexual crowd.  The numbers are weighed heavily against male submissives.

Part of the reason is that it's really easy for women to get involved in girlfriend/boyfriend relationships that are called Ds, when it's not nearly such an easy transition as it is for male submissives.

But the reality is that the good ones find their paths eventually.

Status: offline 		I think that it helps to remember that this activity tends to attract people looking for an escape/entertainment route.........

So it's hardly surprising that one tends to run across a lot of this sort of attitude... (IE, using a Top as a thrill ride/means for getting attention ,until it becomes anything resembling actual work.)

Submissives who actually have the determination to SUBMIT to anything but fantasy fulfillment seem rather rare,overall. I know I'll get knocked for poo pooing the "gift" crowd here- but gifts that keep on taking are hardly that.

Overall,what one has to look at in a service sub is this-input vs output.......... How much management and maintanence will you be expected to do in return for what you get back?  And insist on at LEAST an even balance. I have found that if you view it this way-and clearly define your expectations-you will have the best luck.

But don't hold your breath waiting for one to just fall into your lap out of the blue-you'll have to winnow a lot of chaff to find that one good seed. So patience IS a virtue,when you finally get there.

Status: offline 		Interesting points, though I would tend to agree with LuckyAlbatross.  It tends to be difficult in that respect (unfortunately), but it is possible given meeting the right person for a TPE 24/7 lifestyle.
In regards to those seeking an "escape", could be alot of people on here.  Lest we forget our own discovery origins into the lifestyle, that was precluded with "escape" type of play, which really boils down to more and more people discovering and accepting what others have been into for years.  Encouragement is better suited to enlighten others to an acceptance of this lifestyle and the roles taken, not admonishment.  Of course as I write this I'm sure I'll bite my tongue at the gameplayers forthcoming!

More about escaping from reality-something people in this lifestyle seem to excel at-one only needs to read a few posts to know THAT much.
