But still it is easier to sling BS then to come up with any realsolutions, all the GOP offer is Tax Cuts to the top 2%   Yea Billionaires will pay less in taxes than most of us.  It worked soooooo wellll before...   Gee, if it was so good at creating jobs why did job growth suck with Bush and why did Bush have 750,000 jobs a month for 6 months disappearing when he left office

Yea drink the kool aid, all the GOP wants is POWER and MONEy  in mean just look at the millions INSURANCE and Medice is donating to the GOP party,

I'd love to see both parties abolished and everyone have to run as an independent on their own merits and not whether they photograph well and take instructions without question.

Unemployment during GWB's first 6 years was lower than average unemployment during Clinton's ballyhooed administration. We've already repeated ad nauseum the facts of the financial crisis and resulting recession that had far less to do with Bush than it did with the Dem controlled congress at the time.

Scary or not, it is the inevitable result of a plurality voting system. Duverger's "law".

No independent party can arise once there are two established and nearly equal parties, they can only help cause the defeat of the party they are most closely aligned with (Perot), or attempt to influence that party to adopt some of their platform without alienating more votes than they attract. (Tea party/conservatives and the GOP).

I wouldn't vote for either party. The Democrats are better than the Republicans but if there is a good progressive candidate I would vote for that candidate. There are some good progressives Democrats like Dennis Kucinich but not enough.

Endangered species these days are not the polar bears it’s the moderate Republican.

Hopefully this theory will not be true in the future. There is not much difference these days between the Republican Party and Republican-lite, or the Democratic Party. Hopefully the American people will wake up and smell the coffee and start voting for independents as neither party deserves anyone's vote.

Yes, Dem created housing bubble was working its black magic on the economy.

Awww you're so cute when your delusional.

Congress was republican held until 2007. What you have is a congress that was not even controlled by its own party leader, Bush.

The same congress that had been republican held for 12 years.

Try again.

It seems to me you're strongly implying that McCain photographs well, and that Palin takes marching orders from the RNC.
Which is pretty funny.

Both sides have tried it from time to time and to me it only makes them look bad. It would be nice if they would address actual problems we are facing, but I have long since stopped expecting that from either party. They are to busy trying to point fingers at the other guy to actually accomplish anything.

Palin WAS the RNC's fair haired girl and as a former Miss Alaska, Id say she photographs well. She fell out of the control of the RNC and, due to her affiliation with the tea party in actively trying to replace some of the long time incumbent Republicans, I have a strange feeling that her name isnt exactly high on the private list of the RNC's favorite people. (note, I said private there as they have to keep up a front of being united, otherwide, the Dems will take advantage). As Ive said earlier, I hope the Republican party takes control of congress this fall because if you look at the last 50 years, the country has run a LOT better when Congress and POTUS are of different parties.

By the way, you saying McCain doesnt photograph well MIGHT solve 2 questions Ive had.

1. WHY did they pick Palin to be his running mate?

2. HOW in the hell did an unknown rookie senator beat him?

Did the "attractiveness factor" figure into these?

McCain had that "war hero" thing going. I voted for him too and was REALLY pissed he didnt win.
Several women Ive talked to do think he is a good looking man. I gave up a LONG time ago trying to figure out what women think looks good.

When, exactly, was she under it? Not as the mayor of Wasilla or the Governor of Alaska, I think. She had to toe the McCain line as VP candidate, of course, but that's distinctly different from the RNC.

That looks are important is, I agree, both true and unfortunate (would JFK be alive if it was untrue?).

The unknown rookie senator beat McCain in large part imo, because he passes for black and self-identifies as black.

I forgot to answer this.
Imo, because she has a charisma perhaps as great, and as polarizing, as BC.
Although maybe- maybe- not as lasting.

There's always been a cordiality between the two parties.  It's fast disappearing.  The GOP will get investigated thoroughly when it is next in power.  And then, things will escalate still more.

Imagine getting paid hundreds of thousands a year to sling mud at the other party and accompluish little else.

Hmmm.. saying he is President only because he is black? Or are you questioning the fact that he is black?

I see her "charisma" as a facade.  Like they say in Texas, "Big hat, no cattle"

Just an opinion.
