I wasn't here from the start of collarme, but the start for me, I'ts become better only because I've met better people and more friends. So for me personally its better even with the assholes in between The Roman Swede

It keeps getting better and better, although there are a few people I really miss and looking at old posts makes me wonder how they're doing. le sigh

Personally I think that in some ways it has gotten better and in some ways worse. I've been a member since '03 but have only visited the message boards for about half that time. In some ways I think things have kind of loosened up on the boards and a little more leeway is allowed in some of the posts, which I think is good. On the other had it seems that in general people are now more belligerent, caustic and confrontational than the way it used to be. And I know that a lot of people don't want to hear it, but the number of spammers, scammers, and so-called "money dommes" (NOT talking about legitimate pros here) on the other side have become almost epidemic.

While I haven't started off on this site I really say it all depends on how you go about things. If you simply join up and send your pictures and form letter messages to every dom/domme/sub (what have you) in a ten mile radius hoping to get a bite then you are in for a surprise when you're just flat out ignored. You really need to utilize the message boards in order to see the real face of CM, it makes me feel better about the community as a whole.

To the OP, I am seriously wondering why it is a question to begin with? You claim to be "new", so what does it matter if it is better or worse than it was in the beginning. (My experience in general is that every new forum has rough spots and they nearly all improve over what they were in the beginning.) Most of us haven't been here since the beginning; "the START". Length of time here doesn't always correspond to forum experience. My serious answer, however, is that since my arrival here over 3 years ago I have not been been assembling any sort of data. I hang out with optimistic people and that tends to feel good and try to avoid the threads/posts and people that are in my view overly negative as that well, feels bad. I often bypass yours for example: they seem a bit OCD to me and that coupled with the phonetics of your name make me worry if you are taking all your meds or something. It is a pretty simple formula.

I haven't been here from the start. I've been here three and a half years. In My opinion, it has gotten worse. There are absolutely fewer edge players on the forums these days. Hard core play used to be pretty popular here. Now, not so much. There has been a significant drop in those of us who participate in M/s rather than D/s dynamics. I could probably count the number of leather folks that are still here on both hands and have a couple of fingers left over. In My opinion, there has been a shift and a decrease in the number of people who participate in public BDSM. There are fewer people that answer technical questions from experience. Lots of people joining up that are 'new' or who have never participated in a long term dynamic. There are still experienced people here, but they have become quite a bit less.

I find the easiest way to judge a website is by the amount of abusers it attracts. CM has done an exceptional job at bring like minded people together which has attracted a fair amount of new comers to what used to be an underground lifestyle. Now there's an easy way to dabble in the shadowy doorways without ever having to leave the safety of your computer chair. . . job well done. However, just like the free personal Yahoo chat rooms that ended up battered with such an unfounded negative bias, if CM does not increase its admin moderating to keep up with the less desirables that mar everything more useful than themselves, this to will fall away. Which in my personal opinion would be a great loss to those that don't quite fit into the white wedding crowds. My three cents, not necessarily yours. _LT

I am wondering if _LT had made use of the moderators yet? It seems as though whenever I have created a ticket, it has been dealt with in a prompt fashion. The Mods and Admins are timely in their responses but it doesn't work if we, the forum members, aren't proactive on our end. See something, report it, they look into it... that is how it works.
