Need I say more?

truckinslave -> RE: Gay Bashing Republicans (8/27/2010 7:06:19 PM)

Yes, a lot more.
The only news (and only to the libs, at that) is the big yawn from conservatives.
That and Mehlman remains opposed to gay marriage. He'll take shit from your side, maybe, not mine.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Gay Bashing Republicans (8/27/2010 7:26:48 PM)

I have neither side. Im a raging screaming Independent. Libs and Righties BOTH hate my ass.

I just think it's so classic that another right wing gay basher got caught sucking dick.

Well, when you post completely unsupported bullshit people will disagree with you....

Hillwilliam -> RE: Gay Bashing Republicans (8/27/2010 7:40:04 PM)

Are you going to say that the former head of the RNC under Bush hasnt come out as Gay and therefore probably sucks dick? and according to this:

Mehlman arrived at this conclusion about his identity fairly recently, he said in an interview. He agreed to answer a reporter's questions, he said, because, now in private life, he wants to become an advocate for gay marriage and anticipated that questions would be asked about his participation in a late-September fundraiser for the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER), the group that supported the legal challenge to California's ballot initiative against gay marriage, Proposition 8.

It doesnt sound like he is still opposed to gay marriage.

READ the post before you interpret it.

truckinslave -> RE: Gay Bashing Republicans (8/27/2010 7:56:33 PM)

I misread the following (unclear) sentence;

"Former RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie and Mehlman's longtime friend called Mehlman's coming-out "significant," but added that he remains opposed to gay marriage."

You still haven't supported your characterization of Mehlman as a 'right-wing gay basher'. Instead you changed the subject, as all good libs do.

thornhappy -> RE: Gay Bashing Republicans (8/27/2010 8:17:18 PM)

From the Christian Science Monitor:

"On whether Bush's call for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage will divide the party:"The president's position - his goal - has not changed. What has changed is the means to accomplish that goal.... When [the Defense of Marriage Act] is called into question because of decisions that say the law is no longer operative, all you can do to keep the principle going forward is the constitutional amendment.""
The right wing of the Republican party has often declared that homosexuals were a threat to society and marriage (which is weird, since I know very few people who were divorced due to homosexuals.)

Did you post this thinking it had something to do with calling Mehlman a "right wing gay basher"?

Here you go Neo.

Maybe you should step out of the Matrix once in a while.

In Mehlman's own words:

Gay Old Party

I heard KM say that he regrets not having come to terms with this part of his life sooner.

Did you post this thinking it had something to do with calling Mr Mehlman a "right-wing gay basher'?

If you are going to deny Mehlman's own words in the video then how is it possible to take you seriously?

Of course not, he said nothing against gay rights.  [8|]

But I hear sockpuppets don't have ears, so maybe that's the problem.

Okey dokey then.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Gay Bashing Republicans (8/28/2010 12:55:48 AM)

I do so enjoy Stewart's comment (1:29 in that clip) that Mehlman couldn't have been expected to fight for the rights of a group that he didn't know he was a part of.

Former G.O.P. Leader Says He Is Gay
By MICHAEL LUO
Published: August 25, 2010

"Ken Mehlman, President George W. Bush’s campaign manager in 2004 and a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, has revealed that he is gay and is working to advance the cause of same-sex marriage."

Yeah, the man can be pretty funny, and can make a point doing so.

Coming to terms with your sexuality has to be one of the hardest things for a homosexual to do. His decision to come out will hopefully going to encourage others to do the same. It might even change the minds of some of the hetersexuals in his life to look at gays in a different light. People piss and moan because others don't understand homosexuals and why they are attracted to the same sex, and then when one of them finally sees the light, you put them down for it.  It's a shame that your hatred is so great that you can't see it.

I would say the ones on the left who shot down prop 8 in CA think it's a threat also, but go ahead and fixate on the ones from the right.

What I hate, boi is hypocrites, not gays. If someone denies theirself and lies and denigrates their own group in the name of the all mighty dollar, They are beneath contempt whether they are gay or straight or rich or poor or liberal or conservative. Folks need to man up, put on their big girl panties and be what they are.
