the other series books - i have thoroughly enjoyed the Grave series. Interesting premise and fun writing. And i too love the Dead series -  refuse to watch the tv show because i wouldn't be able to enjoy it because of negative comparisons. lol.

OK I am a MALE True Blood fan, the series build up on HBO caught my attention and I have been rewarded with a very fun TV series to watch. The title sequence/song on the very first episode hooked me.   I've not read the books, probably won't until the series ends, but Charlene Harris has said in interviews, she passed up other offers for her books because Alan Ball "got her" and where she was going with the novels.   I've not heard and criticisms of the series from Ms Harris, like we did with Clive Cussler and the shitty Sahara movie allegedly based on his book of the same name.

I find it ridiculous that the best television series are now almost all on "cable" the regular networks put out tripe consistently.  I am sick to fucking death of the "reality genre'" the shit is no more real than a Superman comic book is.

Lucy as a huge fan of Stephen King You nailed it other than Carrie, and The Stand Hollywood screws his novels up royally.  You would think he would be offered a little more script approval like Rowling was with the "Harry Potter" franchise.  Her script approval is what keeps those movies as close to the books a possible given the limitations of the medium.

Theatrically,

As it goes regarding S.KIng, I think his ideas dont translate properly is because it is psychological horror, altho yes his horror horror can be brutal, but the psychological aspect is scarier.     IT for example scared the living crap out of me while reading it.  The tv series  was CRAP CRAP CRAP. I would liek to see them all remade..with exception to Carrie and Christine. The Stand was good, but still think with the state of CGI etc it could be better.
The theme to True Blood is bloody awesome, I had to dl the youtube clip of it, im playing it now
