Wowser.

Unless I am seriously interested in dating someone, their sexual orientation is just not important to me. I cannot IMAGINE asking someone if they were gay. Astounding.

pahunkboy -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/29/2010 9:37:07 AM)

Once you say you are gay- it can never be taken back.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/29/2010 9:52:44 AM)

Aneirin,

As someone who has been asked that question a lot I can understand where your coming form.  I've had any number of females ask me if I was gay.  Some of it certainly has to do with not returning their advances.

I have played music, performed on stage in musicals, and did video and film work for ages.  I always had gay friends and never given it a second thought.  I would guess that has something to do with it as well.

My wife would tell you that I have a rather good touch with my feminine side which leads to people thinking that way.  The funny thing is she can be rather butch at times which leads to people wondering if she is actually a lesbian.  We make rather the pair, lol.

Lucylastic -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/29/2010 12:22:54 PM)

oh and for some drunken reason I remember I was belly dancing to the live band in the pub playing a cover of the Queen song Crazy little thing called love.

I dun care what you are Aneirin, can I get a vid of that please????
A) i love the song and B) I would love to see  a man belly dance to it.
How freakin cool

Aneirin -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/29/2010 6:48:07 PM)

Once you have learned the belly dance moves, it can be performed to any music, my cat is witness to this. As to any video of this, I hope not, for I have yet to pluck up the courage to do so in public in a sober state of mind. I am however sort of under pressure to dance public, as I am told I am good at it by my dance teacher and as the class is actively seeking male dancers, I know I am the advertising.

We did have another male dancer briefly, a chap of arrogant Turkish descent who thought his ancestry gave him the moves, he did the obligatory weed out the womaniser private classes, but as soon as he learned he was not the only male dancer, he was never seen again. As to what my female class mates think I am, I like to keep them guessing, but one thing is for sure, I am perfectly trusted by all and seen as a friend not as an interloper. I tried to explain once before, though I am attracted to women, I do not possess the skills to make my interests known, and that I now know is due to Asperger's syndrome. But I understand when I am in a class to learn, then learning is what I am there for, and as a result, I turn off all other instincts so I may concentrate wholly on what I am there to learn.That may I understand come across to some women as gay, although my best pal at class, is an ex Afghanistan female squaddie who is in charge of Royal Marines, she sees where I am coming from in my desire to learn this dance, but I expect her in her world in charge of men, she has had many thoughts as to her desire and many comments all, round.

Lucylastic -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/29/2010 6:55:33 PM)

I've taught a lot of guys how to swivel their hips in my time. First in ballrooom and latin, then when saturday night fever came out every guy wanted to be john travolta,  most failed but I did have fun teaching the ones who were good
If a straight male can dance.... he's got a HUGE advantage over non movers in my way of thinking.

Aneirin -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/29/2010 7:18:43 PM)

Britain as a rule. my age group especially are non movers, more so wall flies with pints in hand watching, I was one once until I decided to go for it and learn what I was told years ago was very beneficial for my lower spine problems, the best exercise possible and strenghtening at the same time as energetic. That coupled with music familiar to my ears, it made massive sense to learn to dance properly to the music I loved. One thing I have discovered males feel threatened by, is hip movements, dance originating from the hips, but the hips are the centre of the body and if you are into that kind of thing, corresponding to the base chakra, so sensual or sexual in nature. I ask what is it with Brits especially that they are scared of sensual dance, why is it they are afraid to dance from the hips, I can only conclude it is a fact of history, something from the past that says men don't dance and if they are forced to, then it is a dance based upon stiff knees as if they were on wooden legs and everything upwards was rigid.

The result last night from my drunken belly dance, was questions asked, where did I learn, with whom etc I and comments about how women would like to see hubbies dance that way. I can there understand I was not popular with hubbies last night, but then again, I know many a man would like to visit their feminine side but are too scared to do so for fear of ridicule or suggestions that they are gay. British males, some of them I feel to be insecure, hence their blatant anti whatever to hide from what they want.

Anyways a male dancer I admire and hope to be as good as someday ;

Are you gay is a question I get asked quiet often, mostly by members of my opposite sex, to which I reply no, but I just have to wonder what makes women ask this question. What is going on for women to ask such a thing, do they have an insight or what, what is happening, what do women expect of men to not ask if they are gay or not ?

Fair enough, I have a degree of Aspergers, but it is only mild compared to some, but I get asked if I am gay by women, what is going on ?

I agree that the sexual orientation of another is not the business of others unless of course it is self disclosed from a position of personal choice. However what is true is that more then not many people either inquire if another is gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transsexual transvestites, cross dressers and heterosexual in some of the most unsuspecting cities. Yes the streets of San Francisco are loaded with those who speculate and in many instances ask the Million Dollar$$$$ Question. Are you _______? (fill in the blank)

It does not bother myself when asked if I am gay by another man. I reply with my answer & he is on his way. I have never encountered anyone who did ask such a question to have ill intent. Instead it was out of interest for one reason or another.

While I am heterosexual I do have many friends who are openly gay men, lesbian, bi-sexual, transsexual, transvestite, cross dresser and heterosexual, etc. etc.. I am not bothered one iota if I am seen with a gay man, lesbian, bi-sexual, transsexual, transvestite, cross dresser, heterosexual lady friend or etc. friend in public or elsewhere.

Take it lightly the next time someone poses such a question and step back and ask yourself, “ So what if I were gay? " would I cease to be the man I am? Obviously sexual orientation does not negate the value of another. At least how I look at the subject.

I carry NO shame for those I call friend and care for deeply.

Take good care of you!

What a bunch of mamby pamby asses.  Don't hand me this fake ass etiquette crap on a forum that has questions about how to break a virgin ass into anal sex, gay marriage or the best way to drink foul tasting cum...  then suddenly get secretive about your sexual orientation?  I'm not gonna' hide my sexuality behind some false etiquette premises that it's impolite to ask.  CollarMe already asked if you were gay when you filled out the profile, why roast this guy for asking a question you already answered?  Roast the OP because he is an ass, he mentions Britain in every thread or you think he is a hoser, but

To the OP:  um... am I fag?  No but I used produce drag queen shows and fuck shemales a million years ago but, I'm hetro now by educated preference.

Kalon, Kalon, Kalon......

The OP question was NOT directed to you.....  The OP is NOT an ass (even though he tells us he has Ass-perger's syndrome. LOL!)

The OP question was to determine what was causing the question to be asked of him in R/L - not on CM.  And I think he has the answer....

Since he does, we're drifting (a little bit) to dance and male attitudes thereof, and the OP happens to have British experience to share.

C'mon, Kalon, just tell us that you were posting at 1:30 AM your local time and that you had a couple and didn't read the thread as carefully as you usually do.

C'mon, Kalon, back down.....
Regards, One of your Friends

Lance Lance Lance . . .   OK

I won't roast this guy about being overly British or tease him.  It wasn't booze, I had just visited the Ask a Mistress forum, perhaps it was my bleeding eyeballs that had me misread the OP, which made me misunderstand the replies and then post my own reply that breaks in mid sentence...  just hanging there.   Thanks for having me go back and look at it again.  Damn magazine editors actually pay attention to what's written.  Seriously though, I am always honored when you take time to read something I wrote.  Thanks again for the heads up.

Love ya bro,
Kalon Eric

switch2please -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/30/2010 10:04:58 AM)

Denver still has BJ's Carousel, which caters to drag queens. One of my Uncle Rye's favorite hangouts [:)]
There's also the Wrangler, JRs, Tracks, Her and tHERe (and Jodi B is awesome for owning/running the last two). I'm sure there are others I'm unfamiliar with.

B is very flirty, likes designer jeans and ridiculous sunglasses, he's in decent shape, and he has very masculine features while somehow being kinda pretty. (I like androgynous faces.) He enjoys mani/pedis now and then, won't leave the house without putting product in his hair, gestures with his hands a lot, and doesn't perv on women unless they have an amazing ass - and he's very picky about that, so not many women are deemed 'pervable'. He gets hit on by men a lot. Oh, and he uses a loofah.

He is definitely more high maintenance than most men I know, but he likes looking good. I like him looking good too. He does fit a lot of generally accepted gay stereotypes, but he's very straight - almost boringly so.
When we met, if he hadn't made his interest clear I would have flirted a bit. I don't necessarily care how someone identifies; I care if they're interested in me in particular. If they're not interested for whatever reason, no problem. If they are interested, woo hoo!

Yet there are many of us who are asked this tired question as we had been asked too many times over our lifetime. Seems to me that unless the other person actually wants to have sex then otherwise I find being asked if I was gay or straight is none of anyone's business unless I deem I want to tell them.

PeonForHer -> RE: Are you Gay ? (8/30/2010 4:41:39 PM)

To be honest, Aneirin, most women I've met have been utterly crap at working out if a man is gay or not.  They're absolutely as bad as men are at working out if females are lesbians, or not.

Just make a point of drinking beer straight from the can and leaving the toilet seat up and they'll stop asking.  [;)]
