ORIGINAL: Aneirin Are you gay is a question I get asked quiet often, mostly by members of my opposite sex, to which I reply no, but I just have to wonder what makes women ask this question. What is going on for women to ask such a thing, do they have an insight or what, what is happening, what do women expect of men to not ask if they are gay or not ? Fair enough, I have a degree of Aspergers, but it is only mild compared to some, but I get asked if I am gay by women, what is going on ? I agree that the sexual orientation of another is not the business of others unless of course it is self disclosed from a position of personal choice. However what is true is that more then not many people either inquire if another is gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transsexual transvestites, cross dressers and heterosexual in some of the most unsuspecting cities. Yes the streets of San Francisco are loaded with those who speculate and in many instances ask the Million Dollar$$$$ Question. Are you _______? (fill in the blank) It does not bother myself when asked if I am gay by another man. I reply with my answer & he is on his way. I have never encountered anyone who did ask such a question to have ill intent. Instead it was out of interest for one reason or another. While I am heterosexual I do have many friends who are openly gay men, lesbian, bi-sexual, transsexual, transvestite, cross dresser and heterosexual, etc. etc.. I am not bothered one iota if I am seen with a gay man, lesbian, bi-sexual, transsexual, transvestite, cross dresser, heterosexual lady friend or etc. friend in public or elsewhere. Take it lightly the next time someone poses such a question and step back and ask yourself, “ So what if I were gay? " would I cease to be the man I am? Obviously sexual orientation does not negate the value of another. At least how I look at the subject. I carry NO shame for those I call friend and care for deeply. Take good care of you! Yet there are many of us who are asked this tired question as we had been asked too many times over our lifetime. Seems to me that unless the other person actually wants to have sex then otherwise I find being asked if I was gay or straight is none of anyone's business unless I deem I want to tell them.
