stef -> RE: Registering a Slave (8/29/2010 9:20:52 AM)

Oddly enough, it's the first hit when you Google "registering a slave".

So is this like registering a car? Do they charge based on the blue book value?

stef -> RE: Registering a Slave (8/29/2010 9:31:07 AM)

No, you need to get them appraised first but finding a true slave appraiser is a bitch.

There's always a catch. Not like you can go to ebay motors for comparables.

*raises hand*

I'm the resident slave appraiser but I'm booked pretty solid. Please call to schedule an appointment. 1-800-RENT-A-SUB.

Thank you.

I was starting to wonder if google was broken today.

Bring your slave or gently-used sub to Slave-Max for an honest, no hassle appraisal. And we'll buy your slave whether you buy from us or not. All offers are good for 30 days so you can take your time deciding whether to sell.

You think that's a pain?  Wait until you see what happens when you try to insure your true slave.

I will register that slave. Do you want a natural number, a negative number, an odd number or an even number, an irrational number, a special number or any other kind of number? I have all kinds available - at no charge!

peppermint -> RE: Registering a Slave (8/29/2010 10:26:14 AM)

Find a number that has meaning for YOU and your slave. Declare that number your slave's personal number. That has GOT to be better than some web site that gives you some random number to place on your slave.

How very satisfying it is to see this august forum award a question the serious deliberation it deserves.

2nd post on the thread gave the answer. How much serious deliberation do you need to do before you google something?

More like registering grocery items with the UCC (Uniform Code Council) to get a UPC (Universal Product Code) barcode.

People still do this shit?

PeonForHer -> RE: Registering a Slave (8/30/2010 4:02:55 PM)

FR

This is like the long-running fiddle of companies that will 'name a star for you'.  You send off twenty quid, they 'officially' record a star as 'yours', with the name that you want to give it. They even send you a certificate.

God, I wish I could come up with capers like this.  I'd be so well-off . . . .

T.W. Adorno used to refer to this kind of thing as evidence of 'the authoritarian personality'.  That is, the sort of personality that assumes that there just must be some authority that will validate some aspect or another of a person's life - make it official, make it OK and acceptable.

OP:  there's nobody - nobody but you and your partner.  There's no choice but to accept that you are your own authority.  There is no other.
