CeriseNin -> RE: reading profiles? (8/29/2010 11:47:53 AM)

Some people clearly haven't read my profile before messaging me. I get lots of c-mails from men. There are men who have read my profile but message me things like "I know you're a lesbian, but..." followed by some scenario of me joining their household to be "used" by him and his slave. There are femdoms who can't read either, but that's the nature of the beast, yes? Just delete and move on.

Also if I may add to this, knowing I have already posted. Getting mad at a situation almost never helps, I see many threads like this crop about about financial domination, fakes, phonies, etc...my question to that is how is that any different from the real world? Like any group of people a few winners, a whole lot of losers. So point being is to ignore this stuff, don't let it get you down and just move on from it, I can't understand being upset over it, because it is just like real life.

Yesterday i was contacted by a "straight male submissive". The chat was bizarre. i think i was contacted by him as we live close to each other.

That's probably the reason why.

There are quite a few folks who will read profiles and still cast their bread upon the waters. It doesn't cost anything to ask and if your proposal is declined you are no worse off than when you started. I read a post in a thread very similar to this where a poster basically said he ignores much of the profile and contacts who he wishes. I didn't read your profile. Does it state anywhere that you are specifically not interested in dominating straight male submissives?

Just kidding. :)

YOU are correct, DARKSTEVEN, i should not have chatted with him but was trying to be polite and not totally ignore him as he did contact me and i did not wish to be rude

Nope. Most people don't read profiles...or at least apparently not. My profile clearly states Female SUBMISSIVE right at the top AND that it's a couple's profile AND I clearly state in my profile that I am NOT a Domme or a switch, but I still get these sub guys contacting me to Domme them & male Doms wanting to know if I'm interested in Them. Go figure. [8|]

..then there was the snotty blonde bimbo Domme from somewhere in England who, despite the fact that I list as a Domme Myself (as well as that I'm happily married and a definitive "NO Dominants" usually in big easy-to-see font like so), messaged Me without so much as a how do you do and ordered Me to My knees (as IF). When I told Her off purely for the amusement value, she wrote back and told Me I was the one that was crazy (the bitch has no idea, really). This was very early on in My CM career, as it were, and when I was here under My former username. When I made this new profile I have now, I saw her stop by for a view. This time, she wisely kept her mouth shut.
'Go figure' is right, sweetsub..

I always read someone's profile through, and I pay attention. But it doesn't always help. I got in touch with someone recently who said on her profile she was looking for 'intelligent conversation'. I'm always up for a bit of that, so I mailed an intelligent reply to her only to get told by her that she's 'shallow and only looking for good looking guys'! What can you do?

Some people figure that a contact with someone who is not suited to them is better than no contact at all.

I agree with DS. People are overly optimistic, here, and everywhere. That's why they buy a lottery ticket; that's why they whistle at a cute babe on the street; that's why they think the go go gal likes them when she pays attention to them at the bar (as long as the money keeps flowing).
