Hi, i am new to this as is my Partner and Owner. We are both looking for some insight into how to set this up for ourselves. i am a submissive/slave and have known for quite some time now. my Owner is new to this entirely. He is dominant by nature and is looking to start this with me. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, that would be great.

For tips and tricks, here's a short reading list you both may enjoy:

All of these are readily available from Amazon.com or you can order through your local bookstore. There are more books on a wide variety of specific topics, depending on what you want to do. I also suggest checking out the FAQ at the top of the forum. It contains instructions on how to use this site's Search feature to find past threads on topics and a link to a site that lists kink groups by country/state so you can see if there are any near you. Many groups offer live demonstrations of various techniques ranging from basic flogging to fire play.
