TheHeretic -> Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (8/31/2010 8:34:14 PM)

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. A doctor involved in an "on-again, off-again" relationship apparently tried to force her way into her boyfriend's home by sliding down the chimney, police said Tuesday. Her decomposing body was found there three days later.

She must have been a grand champion psycho-bitch, you think?

I hope this story puts to rest the belief by the general public that doctors are gods.
Sadly, it also proves that people are often driven to do stupid things by their emotions.

Just sayin'.

Wow, that is just bizarre. I wonder if she is related to the diaper wearing astronaut?

okie -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 4:47:50 AM)

Hmmmmm, and here I thought I had heard it all. Who even thinks about breaking into a house through the chimney? Well other than this gal. I think she has heard too many Santa Clause stories.

DarkSteven -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 6:11:45 AM)

Sheesh, you people... for decades, I've heard whining that doctors won't make house calls. Then one does, and determinedly so, and everyone calls her a psycho bitch....

Jeffff -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 6:23:05 AM)

Who hasn't been bothered by someone who just doesn't get it? Who just won't leave you alone?

I imagine the un-named man in the story will smile and sigh contentedly every time he lights a fire.

tazzygirl -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 6:24:38 AM)

Granted, the woman was off her rocker. But, am i the only one that has problems with this story? She died in that chimney... and wasnt found for three days while her car was outside. He knew she attemped to enter that way, as evidenced by his statement of "While she was trying to break in, the man she was pursuing escaped unnoticed from another exit "to avoid a confrontation," authorities said."

LadyPact -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 7:14:22 AM)

I really don't have an issue with that, tazzy.  Close to the house doesn't mean directly in front of it.  Somebody could park a car three houses to the north of My place and I'd never see it because the road that I use to go into town lies south of My home.  I've lived here for a year and I've never driven on this street any more north than My house.

What I find a bit more odd is the engineer left the house when he knew she was attempting to get in through the chimney "to avoid a confrontation".  A doctor might not have known how small a space that really is or understood that the flue would be closed (summertime in Bakersfield), but I'm pretty sure an engineer would.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 7:28:58 AM)

"first tried to get into the house with a shovel, then climbed a ladder to the roof last Wednesday night"

"While she was trying to break in, the man she was pursuing escaped unnoticed from another exit "to avoid a confrontation
"

She had already been trying to break into the house before he fled.  You believe at that point he was actually thinking, "Hey is she going to pull of the chimney cap and try coming down it", or did he just take the chance to get the hell out while she was occupied.

LadyPact -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 7:43:19 AM)

It doesn't say if he left the house before or after she got the ladder against the house.  I'm thinking tool shed in the back yard or some such thing.

The shovel bit is kind of funny.  I'm wondering if there were bars on all of the windows.  Either that or she didn't have much of a swing.  I'm kind of thinking that it would be easy enough to bust a window with a shovel.

I am wondering a bit why the guy didn't call the cops after he fled.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 7:54:52 AM)

Yep, some crazy bitch is trying to break into my house, I call the police.
Or, I hit the panic button on my alarm, and let the alarm call the police.

I wouldn't just leave, and HOPE she didn't trash the place.

SubPet715 -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 8:13:46 AM)

I'm too attached to my material things to let someone come in and destroy it, or perhaps he knew she would be caught in the chimney.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 8:16:20 AM)

I believe in some instances men just think differently.

Once having my own little stalker fan I never called the cops.  She used to just come and hang out on my front door for hours waiting for me to come home.  She forced her way in the back door once and a window twice.  A few times she came and parked her car outside of work and sat there all day.

I really didn't want her arrested.  I didn't want anything like this to stain her record.  I was never afraid of her.  A couple of times I just went and stayed with friends for a few days, once for a couple of weeks.  Finally at one point she moved on.

And yes if she had gotten herself stuck in the bathroom window I would have walked out of the front door and just left her hanging there.

"Doctors are Gods?"
Hmmm, never heard that one before. We have a few doctors in my family and they're just normal people.

Ah the poor Lady.

That is a fucked up way to die.

RIP

Yup.  For years I've had friends, family get some pretty fucked-up advice and/or diagnoses from docs. When it was suggested that they get a second opinion, the reply was often:  "but he/she's a DOCTOR so he/she MUST know what he's/she's talking about.

My aunt died at the age of 43 from ovarian cancer because a doc told her she had "indigestion".

juliaoceania -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 7:38:17 PM)

fast reply

I hope they do an autopsy, something seems to be fishy about the guy's story, for the reasons above....

Who they hell lets someone climb down a chimney of their home, without calling the police? Maybe he suffocated her and stuck her in there.... just sayin'

dangerousbeauty1 -> RE: Cops: Calif doctor gets stuck in chimney, dies (9/1/2010 10:33:08 PM)

Hmm I wonder what the actual COD was. As a doctor wouldn't someone realize she hasn't answered her page in 72 hours?
Oh well I am sorry she has passed nonetheless, I hope it wasn' dreadfully painful ONTOP of realizing what she did and how she was stuck...

I was suspicious as well, reading the thread. However, the brief article in the link does not have sufficient information to conclude foul play. The death was ruled accidental and the information as presented in the article does not suggest otherwise.
