Howdy!

I'm thankful summer's drawing to an end.

Still mostly doin' a major hermit thing these days . ...

How's everyone else?

Jeffff -> RE: September Roll Call (9/1/2010 9:16:27 AM)

As summer winds down and we head toward another fall, it occurred to me that some reflection might be in order.

Luckily I squashed that thought.

lol

'Introspective Jeffffff' just wouldn't be the same kind of Ken doll . . . . . [:D]

I love summer.. I wish it weren't ending as I haven't had nearly the amount of 'summer fun' that I'd like to have had.  I barely got to the beach... darling boi surprised me with a collaring anniversary trip to Ft Lauderdale.. a quick few days... no people, lots of good food and just hanging out at the pool....

I'm ALL moved... I'm officially living with the boi and now the unpacking begins.  I'm not overly excited about it, but its a whole lot better than the packing and moving.  The cats are getting used to each other.. they've been together almost a month.. but they're not great, though it improves daily. There is a bit less hissing and there are fewer scratches on fewer noses.[:D]

I am so looking forward to Thursday night -- we have house company coming and its the M/s Conference all weekend -- I can't wait!  Its by far one of my favorite weekends all year.  There will be so many old friends there..

Life is good

LaTigresse -> RE: September Roll Call (9/1/2010 11:09:13 AM)

I am cranky.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: September Roll Call (9/1/2010 4:14:56 PM)

Let's see...

My summer "Kink 101" class for the local TNG group went well, despite a tree falling on my house and some unfortunate communication issues at the end. Now that it's over, I'm gearing up to do some presentations at a fetish ball in October, including an abbreviated version of Kink 101. I've got a wonderful, submissive girlfriend who is someone I met here a couple of years ago. I'm still getting used to calling her "my girl" instead of "my friend" but so far it's going well. I also have a really cool play partner; again someone I met here. (Yes, you really can meet partners on CM.)

Hopefully, the drama of summer is finally over. However, I am not looking forward to fall. My play partner is deploying to the Middle East again around November and I will miss him terribly. My girl's husband is also deploying and, while I'm going to miss my friend, I'm excited that it means she'll be moving here while he's gone. I almost feel guilty about how excited I am that I get her all to myself for the winter. *Bad Syl, no cookie.*

I'm working in Corporate America again [:'(] but hopefully it will be temporary. I launched a consumer review blog in June, and I'm trying to get it off the ground in addition to all my other writing. I'm also contemplating going back to school for a second undergrad degree and/or for grad school.

Clearly, I am insane.

SorceressJ -> RE: September Roll Call (9/1/2010 4:20:50 PM)

Like the totally awesome OP, I too am being a hermit these days, but this is a good and constructive thing for me.
I am happy with my life and look forward to all that is to come.
*LOVE and PEACE, y'all..*

~FR~
My nursing refresher course is doing well. I've been getting 90% and up on all my tests, and the last one was 92%. By late this month, I should be starting my clinicals. Yea!! I'm starting to plan an Autumn Equinox party (should be lotsa fun), and I'm also in my apartment bldg's activity club, so the upcoming holidays have me spinning in circles. And I'm planning the purchase of a laptop computer next month....I can hardly wait....I've never owned or used a laptop before! Whew! Other than that, everything is pretty mellow. lol

Jefff dont worry. When you look into a mirror you dont have a reflection.

SweetDommes -> RE: September Roll Call (9/1/2010 8:44:08 PM)

Things are about the same here - always tired, always stressed about work ... cats are nuts, dogs are nuts (and they ate a couple of our favorite chickens tonight) ... car is fixed though, and at the end of the month, I'm going to MI to welcome our second nephew into the world.

SassySouthrnLady -> RE: September Roll Call (9/1/2010 8:56:13 PM)

It's been a long summer and I'm so ready for fall. I have a couple of writing projects in the works as well as some new illustrations I'm working on. I have high hopes of being majorly productive this month. LOL

LadyHibiscus -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 8:50:14 AM)

~~FR~~

September so far is full of fail. A dear friend is in a coma, from a massive stroke. I won't be doing any teaching, so hmmm... fall income source?

Dad's latest PET scan was negative, but Mom has like superredline bone density, so we have to reallly watch now!~

Hmph.

HUZZAH for the good news, hugs for everyone!!

LadyPact -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 9:34:23 AM)

September is going to be recovery month.  MP had his rotator cuff repaired (AGAIN) last week which was a direct result of something that could have been avoided.  It was completely stressful, but we had to have a talk about him not playing with that arm.  It wasn't pretty and I'll spare everyone the details, but there won't be any two handed topping for him for some time.

Due to that, we've nixed any potential plans for Folsom this year.  A crowded street fair will not be the place for him.  It's disappointing, but I'm ok with it.

This past month has seen Me take a bit more control over clip.  Not areas that I particularly expected, but just something that worked out that way.  There will probably be more on that as time passes.

Finally, we have new kitties!  Outdoor momma cat that really doesn't belong to us had another litter.  There are six this time.  Roughly four weeks old now, we are teaching them to like people.  (Momma cat does not.)  They were brought to the back patio (the food source area for the cats who 'adopted' us when we moved here) just last Saturday and are quickly becoming people friendly cats.  They now toddle to us when we open the patio door to go outside and are so wobbly that they are adorable.  The plan was to get them used to us so they could be considered adoptable to other homes.  How we will ever catch momma cat to get her fixed so it doesn't happen again, I don't have a clue.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 9:37:34 AM)

Best wishes to MP!! YAY for kittehs!! I would love a cat but my mom is severely allergic. Maybe live trap the mom?

LaTigresse -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 10:59:20 AM)

Lady Pact, these work great.

http://www.tractorsupply.com/live-animal-traps/live-animal-cage-trap-24-in-x-7-in-x-7-in--5131107

My son trapped over 30 cats this last year because a person that lives near their shop let her 'pets' get out of control and the shop was being over run with them. You don't spend thousands of dollars on custom car interiours just to have a feral cat sneak in, claw it up, and piss and shit all over it.

Talk to your local animal shelters, they might be able to loan you one.

LadyPact -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 11:14:37 AM)

Thank you, LaT.  (You too, Hib.)  I remember you writing a post some time back about feral cats and the difference, from your experience, than a domesticated cat.  This one isn't truly feral, but without a cage, picking her up would be a bad idea.  (Not if I'd like to keep My skin in tact.)  Fixing her isn't the issue, as I'm more than willing to pay to have it done.  It's the catch and release part.  Turning her over to the SPCA wouldn't be an option, as I don't see her as being termed adoptable whatsoever.

LaTigresse -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 11:45:09 AM)

Also, check with the local animal welfare groups regarding the spaying costs. There may be some locally funded group that will help pay for all, or part.

angelikaJ -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 12:17:00 PM)

There are sometimes agencies that sponsor the spaying/neutering of ferals because it keeps the population down.

Try looking here:

If it is too far to travel, someone at one of these is likely to know a program closer to where you live.

LadyPact -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 3:31:25 PM)

Thank you very much, angelika.  One of those actually is very close to where I live.  I appreciate you taking the time to get the link.  It was very nice of you.  [:)]

Dnomyar -> RE: September Roll Call (9/2/2010 5:44:09 PM)

Gives LH a big hug to try to help her thru her trying times.
