Status: offline 		What sign have you seen that you really enjoyed or has stuck with you?

We all see signs all the time.  Every once in awhile I see one
I really like for one reason or another.  I was just reminded
of one of my all time favorites.  It was on the office wall of
an old prototype machinist. 

He specialized in doing one off design specialized tools and
components, so he got into a lot of "one off" experimental stuff.
The sign on his wall said:

Nobody Can Make Anything Foolproof
Fools Are Too Damned Ingenious! 

I would bet there are a lot of really great stories behind that sign.

I use that image as the wallpaper on the computers
that I build for friends.  Great choice and thank you
for adding it.

Status: offline 		Way back in the day, I used to do a little stand-up. Yeah, go figure. I used to tell this story.

Anyway, this is a true story. I used to travel all the time for the better part of 10 years. A lot of the time I would fly, but sometimes I would drive.

There used to be a truck line that had a poster on the back promoting the Shriner's Hospitals. Now, I'm all for that, and helping children and whatnot. But the placement and the content of the sign was a little off.

The sign said (sorta in quadrants with a picture of a kid using a crutch in the middle) Expert Free Medial Care.

Is that expert-free sorta like caffiene-free or sugar-free? 'All the medical care you and your children can get without any of that unneccessary medical expertise.'

I used to tell that story a lot. Not saying I had anything to do with it, but a year or two later, they were still advertising for Shriner's Hospitals on the back of their trucks, but they had changed the wording on the poster.

Status: offline 		When I was working materials science, the electron microscope I worked with had a sign that said "This equipment produces X-Rays when energized"  I got an extra sticker and put it on My old beat up pick up truck.  I got some strange assed looks in traffic.
