I'd hate to see the year where we have named storms all the way up into the T's for Tim.

The news report would be saying, "Christmas trees, lights and decorations are being blown all over ______ville tonight as Hurricane Timmy, not Santa, comes to town."

Hurricane Andrew hit the day we buried my dad. I honestly believed that my dad was such a good man, nature grieved that badly for the loss of him :)

Andrew was scary as shit.

Wilma wasn't a frightening name either. Biggest Atlantic hurricane in the history of hurricane records, same year as Katrina. I was in Mexico when it made landfall about 5 miles from me.  Hung over us for at Cat 4 strength for 48+ hours. It later hit the US, but not nearly as powerful or destructive as it was in Mexico.

I vote for the two name thing. Jim Bob, Martha Ellen, Sarah Sue, etc. It's a southern thing. At least down here where I'm from. (I know hurricanes are serious business, but I just couldn't help myself.)

I moved to where I'm at only 3 years ago, and all I've seen personally is a tropical storm, but they do tell tales of the damage that Wilma did as it moved by.

I'm looking forward to seeing if there's anything noteworthy this year. Anything to break the incessant heat.

Jeff
