No, we voted against Obama and the Democrats. Warned you against voting for them, too.

I think Robert Reich nailed it in this op ed piece in the NYTimes. I may disagree with some of his prescriptions, but overall, I think he's bang on.

and not a fuckin peep of usefulness outta rightwingers how to get decent jobs here.

btw, while repubs are howling at the moon and gnashing their teeth, and not doing much else, what do any of them know of rare earth metals, and what do they intend to do about the fact that china just insured most of the manufacturing jobs in their country for as far as the eye can see?

You mean he's destined to put more people on welfare by the end of 2010 than in the entire Bush Presidency. Did you know that 90% of all school children in the Okc school district receive free or reduced meals???

This is what democrats are all about, and they see nothing wrong with. When I was a kid, we qualified for food stamps, but by God, that was the last thing we would ever do is ask for government help.

HEY SANITY, ARE YOU TRYING TO HELP THE VISION IMPAIRED?

Now that you've done your good deed for the day, you might want to read this:

Romer: unemployment data shows recovery continues

White House Council of Economic Advisor chair Christina Romer on Friday said the Labor Department's report on the unemployed was better than expected as private-sector jobs increased by 67,000 in August.

"Against the backdrop of some unsettling economic data in the past few weeks, today's numbers are reassuring that growth and recovery are continuing," she stated in prepared remarks.

The Labor Department on Friday announced that the unemployment rate inched up to 9.6 percent in August, up from 9.5 percent in July.

The main contributor to the rate change was the government shedding 114,000 jobs as Census workers completed their work. Private-sector jobs continued to trend upward, adding 67,000 jobs last month.

except that bush put up some war jobs, and ended up borrowing and fucking the entire economy as well as bailing out wall street, so--- if you pay me some great amount for say 3 years out of that 8 (which is being generous) and then drop me thru the shithole at at least 3 times what I made..........how is that a wonderful thing, which is exactly what happened.

No I didn't, and I still don't, until you present some proof of it.

"If the economy produces jobs over the next eight months at the same pace as it did over the past four months, the nation will have created more jobs in 2010 alone than it did over the entire eight years of George W. Bush's presidency."

Won`t that make for a good campaign advert.

Gobama!

Obama's going to do this?
What's he going to do, "order" public and private corporations to start hiring?
Or are these going to be "govt jobs?"
With all this "free trade" nonsense anytime a job becomes good paying with good benefits it gets "outsourced" to some foreign country.
What he needs to do is to get us out of "NAFTA", "CAFTA", and the rest of those free trade deals that are killing the middle class in this country.
He can't "order" Ford or G.M. to start hiring people if they don't need them.
Until we get out of those "free-trade" deals I don't see much "change" in this country. Why would there be with wages falling?
It would be interesting to revisit this thread in feb or mar of next spring.
