MrKicia -> Strange Sex (9/4/2010 12:32:15 PM)

Anyone catch this on TLC Discovery health channel?  My wife and I have been catching it lately.  Pretty good show.

Thoughts?

I've seen it a couple of times. They do have some interesting episodes on there. One of the channels had a show called Secret Lives of Women, that one was interesting also.

I LOVED the poly episode with the lady and two boyfriends trying to have a baby. I thought they handled the whole episode very tastefully and positvely. Definately enjoy the show.

Yeah, we saw that one too.  It kinda bugged me.  While all parties involved were civil about it.  I just didnt feel it was fair for her to go back and forth to get what she wanted.  Having a child is and should be considered an important decision. (although many people these days dont treat it as such, but thats a different topic.)

She went to one man and he wasnt ready, so she went to the second guy to get a baby and got what she wanted.  Now the first guy gets pulled into this situation before he is ready.

I dont know, im no where near poly, so i dont have the mind to understand it.  That was just my observation with the little knowledge i have on the lifestyle.

I think they do a good job of being positive about all the episodes. Some shows wouldn't be so neutral or positive about their topics.

Imagine if Fox news covered the same thing? [8D]

MistressTonya2u -> RE: Strange Sex (9/7/2010 2:27:22 AM)

I have seen both shows and liked them.
Strange Sex is actually where I saw an episode about "looners", those who have a balloon fetish.

CallMePatches -> RE: Strange Sex (9/7/2010 10:28:50 AM)

Is there a way to watch this on the computer?

bellesoumise -> RE: Strange Sex (9/7/2010 10:31:37 AM)

Try Hulu.com or using Google to look up links to the episodes.

I think the show's pretty lame. And I took issue with the episode where the woman was poly, and had gotten pregnant with the poly second being labeled as "strange sex"

Poly relationships, and sex with multiple partners isn't strange to me.

Course maybe that's cause I am kinky, and things like poly, and kink are old hat news to me.

And a lot of the issues they present on "strange sex" re not strange at all, they're pretty common.

Like the woman who was allergic to her husbands sperm, and had horrible burning and pain and blistering when she came in contact with it in her vagina, that wasn't strange, I knew right away the moment they said well i got this horrible burning the night we had un protected sex.

The woman who had pain from penetration,  was a little less common, but that's not strange to me either.

Now the woman that could think herself to orgasm with no stimulation to the genitals, THAT was interesting.

And the women that suffered from PEGAD. that was interesting.

But most the stories are more on the lame side than the "strange sex" side.

Keep in mind, that strange is a subjective topic. And the show isnt called "Strange to TFB".

Bout sums it up.   Personally, i wasnt aware of many of those conditions they bring up on the show.  Didnt find them really strange.  Just different, and I like learning about new things.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Strange Sex (9/7/2010 10:21:57 PM)

I laughed in real life at this post.

That is very, very true  Kyttyn.

I still find it kind of boring though [:)]

Oh, I like learning new things too, its just as I said, I don't find most these things on the show, so far as strange, to me.

But like Kyttyn said, the shows not sex TFTB finds strange.
