i gave my love the key to my heart

and he gave it back and said

now that i have everything from you

that i could possibly take

i think i will go and make you pay

forever and a day for not being my perfect love

and then you came and i went and now

we see the real you for what you are

and how you are lacking in soul and beauty

with no grace or empathy for me

you took me for a great big fool

and now with the passing of the years

you have come to see yourself

growing old and crawling towards

that lonely and bitter end

you come and say that i still

have sorely come up lacking.

Another new poem:

i saw you in the parking lot

of the local walmart

can you tell me

that we don't have anything

left to say

to each other

can you tell me

that there is no other

in this i can promise you

we will be here

in this moment in time

i was happy because you are now here.
