ORIGINAL: popeye1250 <snipped> Wouldn't it be nice to see her and Hillary Clinton running against each other in 2012? "CAT FIGHT!" "RRRRRRrrrrrrrRRRRR!" In any debate, Mrs. Palin will crumble under Mrs. Clinton's ability to answer a question coherently. My guess is that it won't get that far. Against Mrs. Clinton? How about former Gov. (of N.J.) Christine Todd Whitman? A moderate Republican like her might be able to strip off the moderates from Clinton's right.... enough to make up for her own loses of the far right-wing Reps. (who basically won't give Whitman time-o-day) That is, Clinton keeps her left wing and some of the folks to her right. Whitman picks up the center and the dissatisfied Dems., dropping the far-right. Stay tuned to this station. here's a bit from Whitman's wiki entry: -------------------------- In early 2005, Whitman released a book entitled It's My Party, Too: Taking Back the Republican Party... And Bringing the Country Together Again in which she criticizes the policies of the George W. Bush administration and its electoral strategy, which she views as divisive. “ The defining feature of the conservative viewpoint is a faith in the ability, and a respect for the right, of individuals to make their own decisions - economic, social, and spiritual - about their lives. The true conservative understands that government's track record in respecting individual rights is poor when it dictates individual choices.[25] ” She formed a political action committee called It's My Party Too (IMP-PAC), intended to help elect moderate Republicans at all levels of government. IMP-PAC is allied with the Republican Main Street Partnership, The Wish List, the Republican Majority for Choice, Republicans for Choice, Republicans for Environmental Protection and the Log Cabin Republicans. After the 2006 midterm elections, IMP-PAC was merged into RLC-PAC, the Republican Leadership Council's PAC ----------- For those that don't know: Log Cabin Republicans is the Gay ones.... Whitman's problem right now is name recoginition. Do your part!
