Recently, my dom, a friend and I have been tossing around the idea of doing a bdsm-related photo shoot, where I would be the model. He and she both have excellent photography skills, cameras and even a darkroom, so none of that is a problem. I really don't want to do anything that is just going to look like cheap porn- I'd much rather have more emotional and well crafted pictures that left some things to the imagination. Has anyone else ever done something like this amaturely (or just wants to offer suggestions)? If so,

What kind of back drop, scene ect should we set up?
Any costume or set ideas?
Any other tips, tricks ect you can offer?
Any ideas for photos?

This all depends on what you are comfortable with.
Pictures are nicer when the backdrop is plain, with the focus on you as the subject. For instance, the photos I have were mostly taken against a black sheet.
Keep props simple. In the shoot I had done last May, the only thing we used was a chair.
If anonimity bothers you, a hood <evil grin> is good to alleviate this concern.
Try different outfits and scenarios and angles .. and if it doesn't work out or is not to your liking, you can always try again.
Also, you could actually *do* a scene with your dom and the other taking pictures. That way you are not focused on the camera, and the shots will be more natural.

i would look at some bondage/porn/goth sites for pics and ideas on what you do and dont want in terms of poses clothing and backdrop.there are some pretty cool ideas/pics out there.

Keep it simple. Avoid cheesy bdsm style clothing. Check out some of the clothing on the JT's Stockroom site for some sexy ideas. And please....... no socks. Socks are fine in various stages of undress, but if otherwise totally nude.... bad idea.

And lastly, feel free to share the pics with us as they develop ........

If you are going to use a lot of black leather and maybe some metal toys and equipment, try doing black and white prints with almost distorted high contrast.
Of course scanning the negs and digital photo manipulation leaves endless possibilities.
Take a bunch of shots with a blank mono color background, like a bright colored bedsheet that can easily be matted out in software. Then you can insert any background you wish.

You know it's the Photographer , who knows his subject, i love photos and
many photos on Cme on profiles are great.
Someone could take a photo of a Woman on a literal garbage heap with the
scavenging birds an Bulldozer plowing mounds of trash over,
And in that Photo this Woman's essence is captured, it is the eye of the person behind the camera, in this photo could be
a goth girl or an elegant submissive in finery, Each photo in the same environment , same light etc will convey a different message,
The photographer who knows the subject will capture the essence ,,
its a talent, a intuitive sense , a skill that can be be learned ..
i love outdoor scene's ,,,
    Nature,
    City roof tops,
    Junk Yards ,,, im a junkman afficianado
    New construction of buildings or old Demo buildings
     Ask to use a club after hours, a pool table , a bar, the restroom. alleyways
     Don't see the camera, its not an intelligence , Don't project, be that which
your dressed as, be alone, their is just You,
     Use different feeling within Yourself in each photo, meaning sitting bound , feel it as a place where You want to be, then shoot , stay in same position feel it as a threatening place, where you have been taken against Your will, really feel it, don't project to the camera just to Yourself. take alot of photos that's what s awesome about digital..
     Shoot from the side, shoot from face on , shoot from the Back, shoot up shoot down,,   shoot shoot shoot ,,,,,,,
     and the thing about Porn,,
ive seen a Womens sex exposed close up
and it comes across as Beautiful as an Elegant Orchid,   and ive seen so much less showing look absolutely Pornographic,   So take the provocative shots and weed out the Ones You don't like, if You trust Your Photographer and Developer shooting 35 mm no problem ...
If Your shooting digital same thing delete those You personally don't want,,,
Have a Blast !!!!

I have always shot many different scenes. If possible shoot outside, in the pool, the limit is the imagination. I recently saw some water bondage from an ad from this site. I was impressed! Look around at poses and restraints, and you will be filled with ideas or find a theme you like.

Use a backdrop.
Keep it simple.
Take lots and lots of photos.
Most photo editing software has a crop feature...play around and use it.
It can turn an ordinary picture into something great.
Same with black and white and sepia.
Experiment with different camera angles. Take from above and from on the ground.
Invest in a tripod.
