taking blame is not something politicians do very well
apologizing  is even rarer
running and hiding, cancelling debates and press conferences is their only way out
Reid is a wanker of the first persuasion .
Angle is a crazy whacked out twat that is more newtshit than palin and bachman put together.
Neither would be electable in a smart society

Well, well, according to Rasmussen Sharon Angle is now "tied" with Harry Reid!
That's *really* not good for Harry the Hat!
Angle has been "steadily" gaining on him for the last few months and there's almost two months to go.

Funny in June it was Angle 50%, Reid 39%
at the same placve
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/nevada/nevada_senate_angle_50_reid_39
Spt 3 was Angle (R) 45% Reid (D) 45%http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/nevada/election_2010_nevada_senate
so you cant even get that right

DomKen nice try but the point of my posting who's been in charge was to give some perspective, people were cioting 10 years of control by Republicans like it was a century or something and as if the Democrats had been so put out and so uninvolved in creating the conditions that lead to today.

not only the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac problems but also deficit spending, and other government effects on the economy.

As I said Reid was either an active part of why things got bad or he was asleep at the wheel.
He can't hide behind the It wasn't me idea when he has been Majority Leader for that many years. He wasn't just along for the ride, he was a LEADER. and the attempts to cast himself as a victim of circumstance just makes me laugh. Almost as hard as I laugh at you trying to defend him.

Where did I try and defend anyone? I just pointed out the facts. Reid was not in charge of the Senate when the subprime mortgages causing all the problems were written.

I guess he was an absentee SML for the last two years of the Bush administration.

So it was Bush`s fault ?  Or does GW get a pass and the Senate carry the can ?

Nobody gets a complete pass, but the Democrat controlled Congress and committees control the agenda, not the POTUS.

The housing bubble peaked in 2005. Before the 2006 election and therefore before the Democrats controlled either house. Please stop trying to make up your own facts.

Nice try, but wrong yet again. The decline in prices started in 2006, and didnt really take off until 2007. More importantly most of the bad paper was issued in 2006 and 2007, when the Dems blocked Bush's efforts to rein in Fannie/Freddie and the banks.

The decline started right after prices peaked in 2005. The subprime ARM's causing most of the trouble were written between about 2002 and 2005. Those are simple facts.
