Had to look up the occellated lizard, very cool! As far as snakes, corn snakes are pretty easy to keep, so a good choice.

Here's a post I made awhile back about an encounter with a friend's 14' Burmese:
"Snakes do not scare me (obviously). I've owned two burmese pythons, and used to handle many other pythons, boas, and other species. When I was 19, a friend of mine, 'R' had a 14' burmese named Cthulhu, who was fed only black rabbits. I came over one day, not realizing that:
a) Cthulhu was out of the snake room
and
b) that he hadn't eaten in 3 weeks.
unfortunately
c) I was wearing black sneakers
Result: me standing there with a 14' python latched onto my foot and wrapped around me nearly to the waist, squeezing. I called my friend to come get his snake, while letting Cthulhu know that he had bitten more than he could swallow. 'R' took one look, laughed like hell and ran for the camera! The pics were hilarious!!! "

With you and Steven there. Plenty of lizards, snakes, and other wildlife here on the farm. We have an army of blue belly lizards that will run right up and demand to be fed, LOL.

Why thankies! I would love to have a turtle pond. We recently discovered that a box turtle somehow found his way into the tortoise habitat and made himself at home!

Got his number? Kidding. Rattlesnakes don't bother me, but they are pretty common around here and my degree is rather in that area.

Awesome pics, thankies! One of my roommates in college had a ball python that we sometimes took to class or into town. He was really mellow as long as he had a human 'tree' to hang onto.

Another college roommate once 'lost' her 5 foot red tail boa in our house (we went home for break and the housesitter didn't latch the cage properly). I found him 3 weeks later, crawling from one storage box to another in the garage, which was where the rat cage was located. I was happy that he finally turned up, but amazed that a 5 foot snake was in the house for weeks without us finding him!

Thankies for the compliment! I won't tell them though , they both have entirely too much ego as it is, LOL. IMO, I have found that reptiles are very effective 'relative suppressants' [:D]
