A friend of mine in a very round about way asked me whether there are vanilla/normal (ie. not munches or overtly BDSM) bars/places that people go to that are known to be dom/sub attracting in London.

I have no idea because I don't do munches or the scene and have only met partners in the normal "meeting people in real life way" rather than via a website etc.

I think what she is asking is rather the equivalent of "if I want to meet a doctor, I should go and hang round the bar by the hospital where doctors are known for going as opposed to qualifying as doctor. How can I meet a dom without going to munches/signing up to collarme etc. " She doesn't want to go to a munch or *come out* as sub overtly.

I suspect the answer is no but does anyone know of any *safe* vanilla style bars that are known for doms or as a place for doms and subs to meet that isn't officially a munch.

Even as a question it sounds bizarre to me but all thoughts appreciated.

Check out LondonFetishScene.com.  The London Fetish Fair is next Sunday.

Go to the bigger events and drill down. Meet cool people and ask where they go, what they do.

Publicly advertised local munches are frequently (though not always) very disappointing. The best stuff happens off the radar.

There used to be Coffee Cake and Kink but that's gone now.

I think the nearest your going to get is http://www.londonalternativemarket.com/ and http://www.londonfetishfair.co.uk/
Its street clothing, though you will see some people in fet gear. A lot of people just go to the markets to socialize around the bar but you will be distracted by all the interesting stalls.
Fet markets are a great place for getting to know others without it being too much in your face.

Many thanks. I think a fetish fair would be a bit too out there for her.

It was "off radar" stuff she was after I think.

The only sort of place that is going to be off the radar, is a secret or private invite sort of get together. The only chance of being invited to such a thing is when you know people who like you.

Exactly. But you have to meet those people first. My suggestion is to go to the bigger events and introduce yourself. There are other ways, but that way you get to see them in action and decide for yourself if you like their style before getting deeper in.
