DommeJennice -> Hello (9/8/2010 6:50:16 PM)

Just dropping by to say hello.  I am only looking for friends.   I am no longer active in the lifestyle, but I like to keep up with what is going on.  I wish they had a "mature retired"  section. My philosphy on the life is try not to make it complicated.  The more you worry about what one says about the other, the more confused you will become.  Just feel and do what you are comfortable with doing.  Always bring someone with you, and keep and eye on the door.

Thank you all for the kind welcomes.  I hope to get to know many of you via message boards.   I no longer chat in chatrooms.  I can recognize red flags because I have been through them.

Best Wishes

Welcome to CM. I like the idea of a 'Mature' section...it would be nice to be able to filter out some of the...ahem...less mature in our midst...

And do you think that age is always relative to maturity? I know 20 year olds with more sense in their little fingers than people twice their age.

I don't like the idea of a Mature section for two simple reasons:

1. It is age-ist
2. Maturity is subjective

SadisticPriest -> RE: Hello (9/10/2010 3:51:46 AM)

I agree. I'm 20 myself and from looking around, both the forums and people's profiles on Collarme, I'd feel pretty safe saying that I hold myself with a fairly high level of maturity compared to them. It's one of the things the sub I've been talking to for the past few days finds appealing about me. Compared to comments like "Your MINE now bitch!" and people trying to force her to be comfortable getting naked in front of them through the internet (when she has body issues)... someone ten to twelve years younger then those guys, willing to just chat like a couple of old friends catching up before getting into the heavier stuff (and even then still being respectful, despite being a Dom) must seem a pretty good choice.

So in a way, I do see the desire for a mature section, meaning for people who actually seem to have a decent mental capacity. But on the other hand, I see sexyred's point about that idea being subjective. *shrugs* So I guess either way would be fine with me, when it comes down to it.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Hello (9/10/2010 4:23:59 AM)

All I know is that I'm 47, soon to be 48, I don't act my age, look it or feel it (well OK, 2 outta 3 ain't bad). My dad would tell you I still have times when I act like the teenager he was forced to deal with. Age is indeed a #. My 30th h/s reunion was in May and it still freaks me out that it's been that long since I graduated.

My close friends' kids, and I was there when they were born, are now 28 and 26. The oldest has 2 kids of her own. Where o where did the time go? I remember changing daipers for them.

I also know that I'm one of the few among friends and family who doesn't have a meltdown everytime a major milestone b'day comes along. It's never bothered me, and I can't see why it should. I'm still me, the best me I can be. O I'm mature when I need to, but when I look at how my parents acted when they were the age I am now, it's totally different. Thank the rubber duckies for that or I'd be a prude. [;)]
