You Italians know what I'm talking about.  Pasta!

As I make my own pasta..  I'll pass on answering this one. ;) Nothing out of a box even comes close.

Neither.  I converted to using whole-grain pasta, which I find in the health foods section.

Barilla.
Although homemade is the way to go like Celeste said.
But who has time for that.

One of the perks of early retirement. I still have enough energy to be able to do the things I enjoy. The Kitchen Aid is my second favorite gadget. ;)

Barilla is winning 4-0 (well, among those who don't make their own pasta).  Funny, De Cecco is usually more expensive.

It’s all the same to me just different shapes.

Barilla now makes the Barilla Plus which is multigrain and has added Omega 3
Pretty yummy for store bought.
I use the old fashioned crank machine when I get the time to make my own.
I suppose I could get the attachment for my kitchen aid, but there's something so nice about mixing the dough on my counter and rolling it through the machine by hand...just like my mom used to do.

I guess the final score was 6-0 Barilla.

Barilla, rigatoni specifically. Keeps the 'al dente' texture better than any other you can buy domestically.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: Barilla or De Cecco? (4/27/2006 10:47:19 AM)

Kroger brand!  We're poor and busy.  LOL.  Anything that costs a dollar and can stretch for two meals is always a good thing.  I'd love to be able to make my own, but I just don't have the time.

SweetPosession -> RE: Barilla or De Cecco? (4/27/2006 2:47:48 PM)

I tend toward organic brands. I'm curious about making my own, but I don't care enough to actually do it right now.

Barilla here

gooddogbenji -> RE: Barilla or De Cecco? (4/27/2006 6:58:17 PM)

Casting my homemade vote....  Although I usually make them stuffed.....  Ravioli, tortellini and other random shapes I invent....

Yours,
