Owner59 -> Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 7:26:28 AM)

USA Today reported that Jones said in an interview he had not been contacted by the White House, State Department or Pentagon. If such a call comes, he said, "that would cause us to definitely think it over. That's what we're doing now. I don't think a call from them is something we would ignore."

What a fucking backward,ignorant adult child!

It`s obvious now that he knows why he shouldn`t do this.

So he needs to be salved and catered to in order to do the right thing?

Very sad.

Its his way of passing the buck..if the whitehouse doesnt ask him to stop...hes gonna blame everythin on them...cmon, hes a manipulator.
Wouldnt it be lovely if the media stopped covering this cluster fuck?

Terry Jones is an attention whore.   What do you do with an attention whore to have the most lasting effect?  Ignore it.

If the media would stop giving him what he craves, Mr. Jones would crawl back under his rock.

How does one make that happen?

He reminds me of that idiot in Topeka with the Westboro Baptist Church that protests funerals.  Maybe, they oughta get together.

If this pastor is resolute in his beliefs, he should just do what he feels is necessary and reap the consequences of his actions, not say he will reconsider if he gets a phone call from Obama, as wtf has Obama got to do with this fool's belief, or is it this pastor has changed his religious belief into a political issue and is saying only Obama might be able to persuade him, which to me comes across as this scrote wants Obama to grovel on his knees before his ego.

But on the other hand, if Obama does phone the ass hole to ask him to not do what he has said he is going to do, what message does that send out world wide? One which I see as positive, is that the ultimate leader of a powerful country has the humility to grovel to an aggressor to stop offence being created, that to me is a right action, and I am sure other worldwide for and against might share that view, Obama could be seen as positively trying to avert the problems the world now faces, and in doing so, he can be trusted.

But if Obama doesn't act as per this wanker's suggestions, what will happen, will the offence go ahead, or will the pastor be arrested, or even come to harm, before or during his act of hatred. If he is killed, what does that make him, nothing but the worst kind of recruiting reason, the martyr.

This pastor, despicable as he is and a disgrace to his religion I suspect is very clever, for he has weighed up exactly what his actions are doing, he is in a very powerful position.

Maybe Westboro babtist will protest it

servantforuse -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 12:34:37 PM)

I believe that the FBI paid the pastor a little visit this morning.

Archer -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 12:44:05 PM)

He's a nutjob with a congregation of about 50 bigots. Someone needs to buy him tickets to Yemen for his next Koran Burning protest.

Lockit -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 12:44:37 PM)

That man puts us all in danger of retaliation. This isn't the right to religious freedoms, but a national threat to American safety and should be considered such in my opinion, but what the hell do I know? What is the cost of fifty people's freedom?

Archer -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 12:52:06 PM)

What is the cost of 50 people's freedom?

The rights of EVERYONE being subject to being ignored.

If you remove these people's rights you leave the door open and who knows where the curtailment of rights will end?

I'll risk the retaliation in order to be secure in the fact that we retain the freedom of expression.

Jeffff -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 12:55:15 PM)

I agree, we can't pick and choose.

The one thing that CAN be done is a media blackout.

If no one went and no one reported on it, filmed it or wrote about it, it hardly happened did it?

stef -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 1:00:13 PM)

Ha.  Rackspace took the douchebag's website down for violating the hate speech clause in his user agreement.

The trouble for me is that I agree with you. And yet, look what happened so long ago and the effect it had on people and what is now going on in an environment of people sick of politics and sanctioned criminal activities against the American people by our rights of choice being taken by those who think they know what is best for us.

Their religious rights shouldn't place various others at risk. I don't just view this as a religious or free speech situation. I see this in a time of war as I would a soldier that hands out information he shouldn't even have and places people in danger. I see this as someone agitating people who wish to kill us and them not taking that person out, but as many of us as they can, as they have shown they will in fact do. Even over a cartoon...

Even with religious rights to not give your children medication, for the good of the child, those rights are taken to save the child. Within reason, this man should be stopped if his beliefs pose a dangerous situation to others.

popeye1250 -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 1:12:59 PM)

Yeah, why even bother to have the First Amendment?

maybemaybenot -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 1:15:06 PM)

I see it differently. < what a surprise [:D] >

I think the *pastor* is looking to fry bigger fish. I think he sees that the overwhelming majority of Americans find this abhorant. So how does he save face ?
If a government official or agency contacts him as he suggests or pretty much is inviting them to do, he abandoms his Koran burning mission and jumps right on the " the governmet want to take away our right to free speech " wagon. His flock will go crazy, other wingnut * Christians * will be right there beside him to take on a new cause. He also can point the finger at the Obama administration as forcing their socialist agenda on him. Taking away freedom of speech and religion all in one swoop.

This * pastor* may well be an asshole, but he is a smart asshole and I don't think he will just turn tail and hide. He will use it to further his own agenda.

my 2 cents

I understand your point of view, but it is a slippery slope.

It would be ok if I were the one to decide what is and is not appropriate.

I am going to guess not to many other folks would agree with that...:)

Archer -> RE: Book-burning butt-fucker says he`ll reconsider...if..?!!?!!! (9/9/2010 1:19:18 PM)

NOOOOO not jefffffffffff

Maybe if I was appointed benevolent dictator for life.
