Okay, I just have a question about an odd trend I've noticed in dominants' profiles:  the frequent listing of "birdwatching"  as a "hard limit".

It just makes me idly wonder, are many dominant men afflicted with an aversion to birds?  Do they perhaps have a phobia so strong they'll scream and run like little girls at the unexpected advent of our little feathered friends?

Or, are they perhaps so persecuted by enthusiastic subs with binoculars that they have to make it a hard limit just to get any work done?

I would say that it was more of a fear of being watched at a distance through binoculars while doing something else outside.

"Look Effie, it's the rare albino hairy Dom butt in it's mating ritual!!"

I actually have a neighbor who has a phobia of birds.   I have pet birds, and since I moved in, she won't come into the house because they are frequently out of their cages.

My roommates have oft commented that had they known this was such an issue with the neighbor...they would have gotten a bird of their own sooner.

Hmmmm, you've just given me a "light-bulb" moment....

I have several bird aviaries and I feed the local cockatoos and parrots when they drop by - but I have no sub!  Sounds like I've been doing it all wrong, dammit!!!!

I think alot think its too "sissyfied", the thought of the guy with the Sherlock Holmes hat, binoculars, chasing some finch through the park--afraid to admit that may make them appear less than...

Oooh, lots of great answers, guys!  We will penetrate this mystery yet!

Focus50, I think you would do a lot better to start stocking sub stations.  Bait with chocolate.

Well I can only speak for myself....and I don't have bird watching listed at all (at least i don't think i do), but the reason i dislike it very intensely is because I find it sooooo fucking boring.

Yes but how many peckers could a wood pecker wreck if a wood pecker could peck pecker?

Some birds are scary like swans for example though I think if someone did have to total phobia for swans they would be looking for them all the time, they would be afraid to look at a swan and yet also compelled to constantly look for swans in case some were sneaking up behind them or something. So being scared of birds cannot be the reason because if they where scared of birds they would have to look for them anyway and yet at the same time if they were not scared to look for swans then why would they not like bird watching hmmmmmmmm I noticed on a discussion board that some woman’s dom does not like interacting with other doms perhaps it is the innate dominant nature that some of the more strutty birds display that the doms find so very offensive and thus cannot bring themselves to look upon the birds as they display their bird fabulousness. I think someone should ask a dom who has said they do not like bird watching if they like peacocks or not since the peacock is the most strutty and flamboyant of all the more and when I say more I mean less common birds if the anti bird dom is reduced to a twitching mound of emotional bile at the mention of the word peacock then I believe the second possibility I have outlined could the one we are looking for.

laughs....that's EXACTLY the reason a dear Master friend of mine gave me when i asked him why he had bird-watching listed under "hates"....

i wonder how many subs feel the opposite way? i love birdwatching myself, and set up my Spring birdwatching station just yesterday....i watch them out my kitchen window as i do the dishes, etc....luckily, my Master would probably list it under "tolerates"

littleone35 -> RE: Bird Phobia? (4/24/2006 3:42:36 PM)

My master and myself like bird watching  my Master can even tell what bird it is from its call.  I just find it fun to watch all the different ones that come to my bird feeder.

MistWalker -> RE: Bird Phobia? (4/24/2006 6:36:06 PM)

prety much the reason i have listed under dislikes, i think.. i simply find it boring as all hell, other things i could find to do with my time then spending hours trying to spot a damn bird... so its soemthing i dislike doing.. have done it with a friend once.. and wont again..

Rozencratz -> RE: Bird Phobia? (4/25/2006 5:59:25 AM)

I don't get it... bird watching is great! Just hang around the mall or ourside one of those big shopping centers with lots of Gap's and Bath and Body Works' and watch them stroll by. Sure, you get some weird looks once in a while, but you know they love the attention.

Oh... the other kind of birds.... nevermind then.
