Root Canals
Root canals are not covered in the following situations:
•Intentional (elective) endodontics. •Third molar (unless it is an abutment tooth). •Teeth with advanced periodontal disease. •Teeth with subosseous and/or furcation carious involvement. •Teeth which cannot be restored with conventional methods (i.e., amalgam, composite or crowns). •Teeth which have received prior endodontics treatment.

So I wonder what type of root canal IS covered???????

I'm not a dentist but to me it reads like...if it hurts and it cannot be fixed without doing a root canal they will fix it.

Unless of course it is a pre-existing condition, which yours is not because it just "might" be an issue.

Plus..different dentist and it is a brand new issue.
The only way they would know is if you got a prescription for it.  They track those things down like the FBI.

Remember a few years back when the idiot doctor told me I had a heart condition?  He gave me nitro.  I filled the prescription..after all mom and dad both died of heart issues.  That was my biggest mistake I've made in years.  Even though there was nothing wrong with my heart.  Insurance looked up past scripts.  I had a heart problem for 3 years until it dropped out of the system and could not get health insurance.
