Status: offline 		So, there's this mosque being built, and it's offending a lot of people who find it insensitive. Since I can't imagine that being offended is a pleasant state to be in, I've gone and found some links to share:

I encourage everyone who is offended by the building of an Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero to find some inner strength, try to come to terms with it.

The world doesn't care if your feelings are hurt and refusing to even attempt to move past hurt feelings into acceptance is only hurting yourself.

OR issue death Sentances on authors?

Is there an Arabic translation of your very imformative websites?

Heck yesterday I had posts pulled because others were offended.

Maybe a lot of folks could use your informative links.

Your taking offense to any of this does absolutely nothing to fix it.

Consider getting involved/donating money to charities working to end human rights violations in the middle east.

What does the thousands of book burning Muslims in England (salaman Rushdie) or the murdered Dutch Filmmaker have to do with Human rights violations in the Mideast?

My mistake, I thought you were concerned with the middle east.

What sort of solutions do you think you can get involved in to help these causes that mean so much to you?

I think it's more about selfishness than intolerance, I really have no problem with people who get offended easily, but I do have a problem with people who think that taking offense to something should mean that others pander to their delicate feelings.

"I'm offended" should be a simple statement of fact, not a call to arms.

Oh yes I admit I'm often offended by things. That's why I posted this. I try to work through my feelings internally, and it really does help me move past hurt feelings into acceptance.
