I'm sure we all have them, but i was wondering....what is it that You see in a profile that totally makes You click that little X in the upper right hand corner of the window?

Well thus far I havn't had to hit the "x" button I just don't reply to ones that are obviously doormats and want someone to micro-manage their life.

Well technically sting, hitting the X would close the whole browser. So, I've never been traumatized to that point ;)

But I do hit "Next" very often. What turns me off is the essentially profiles that are all a list of activities with nothing else to them. They are so very vacant and such a turn off.

And with that, I went to go look at your profile sting… only because you posed the question, so this would be in my twisted little mind, solicited advice ;) Take it or leave it.

Who are you sting? Is there more to you then a cock, balls and an asshole? *I* know that there is because I have read your posts in these forums and from what I’ve seen to date, you show a man who can express himself with a reasonable amount of intelligence. Your posts have not all been “whip me, beat me, humiliate me” but rather have spanned beyond that and I have appreciated them.

If you want to attract more then just a spanking machine, you have to cater to those who are more then just spanking machines.

So I go back to your profile and all I see is a cock, balls and an asshole. I’m a little surprised actually. What about your passionate side? It would be nice to see a little about you… Substance boy!! Substance!!

What makes me go “Next” is lack of Substance.

I hit next when I see a grocery list of interests. I like a profile that gives a general idea of interests but leaves room for me and my interests.

Also, most profiles are (as Angelika said) pretty bland. A profile is your first impression. I usually check them before I answer anything sent to me. Most men seem to write their profile expecting we are all just waiting to jump their bones, slobbering at the chance we might find a male sub looking for attention, there are so few of them around... NOT.

What's unique about you? Who are you? Do you have a life outside this website? I certainly do.

Lady Angelika,

Thank so much for Your input...i had posted this thread for general information for everyone, but was glad, and a little surprised to see how You viewed my profile!

I wish i was better at selling myself in a profile, i've always been better at answering questions about myself than just offering up information...which probably isn't the best way to write a profile! LOL

Anyway, i've updated my profile, and i hope i've gotten rid of that aspect of my profile...if anyone else wishes to comment on the profile, i'll gladly listen to what anyone has to say.

Thank You,

sting

I understand that for many people, writing about one’s self is not easy to do. I, on the other hand, can go on about myself ad nauseum. Haha!

Here is a technique you might find helpful. You say that you are good at answering questions, then use that as your starting point. Schedule an online interview with someone who you feel will ask appropriate questions (I will even volunteer if you like). Make sure you log the chat. At the end, paste the chat log in a text editor and organise the information in a logical way. And presto! Voilà!

It is much better indeed. I also think you get rid of the disclaimer in the beginning. Fresh start sting. :)

That would probably have to be posted on the "Lifestyle In The News" Board with the headline "What Made Her Do It?". [;)] I can't say that I've ever been quite that moved either. But then I don't browse profiles.

Your picture is very blurred, it might help to find a sharper one. I think your written profile is pretty good, but i haven't looked at very many male sub ones, so may not be the best judge.

i just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to Lady Angelika, who was kind enough to help me do what i think is a better job with my profile...it's rare one runs across someone who is willing to take the time and effort to help someone they only really know through forum posts.

Thank You again, Lady Angelika...Your kind help is much appreciated!!!
