My partner and I had a lot of fun today with her riding on my shoulders, but we're interested in finding a saddle (or plans/drawings to make one) that could be used while standing, instead of on all fours. Google keeps pulling up the saddles that are only good if you're going to crawl around, and we are not interested in that. Any ideas? Any info on upcoming conventions, or possible contacts for custom work?

Check out The Water Hole Custom Leather. Mike has been into the pony scene for a long time and he does great saddle/harness work. Save your pennies though, it's not cheap. ~stef

I looked at that website, and thought about contacting them about custom work. As far as the price, that seems fairly reasonable, since it runs along the same as custom made tack for a real horse. That stuff ain't cheap, which is why there's a huge resale market for used tack.
