Just another day
The shame is gone
It's hard to believe
That I've let it go away

Oooh, the first line above  inspired me:

"There's razors in my bed / That come out late at night
They always disappear / Before the morning light
I'm dreaming again / Of life underground..."

i heard this in my head.

If I come on like a dream
Would you let me show you what I mean
If you let me come on inside
Will you let it glide

Will you do it like that
Now if she touches like this
Will you touch her right back
Now if she moves like this
Will you move like that

You'll ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved in return

This...

You see everything
You see every part
You see all my light
And you love my dark
You dig everything
Of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything
To which you can’t relate
And you’re still here

Everything: Alanis Morissette

I just realized guys with long hair can be really good looking watching that video...

That's buckets of hair conditioner.
It's a fucking glorified mullet.

As a marching band/jazz drummer who plays mostly rock (and who played in Houston's best punkabilly band back in the very late 80s -other bands would go set up for late gigs, and come watch us (one of these days I gotta put one of our gig vids up)), I can confidently say that anytime I see someone set his cymbals up like that, he's gonna suck. Once again I am right.

But hey, "De gustibus non disputandum est", eh?

So anyway as I ease into my old age I'm getting more radical and more crotchety at the same time. I'd piss on John Boehner's shoes if I get the chance. There's a thread about "Music and Politics" on a FL group, and this is stuck in my head.

"The revolution will not be right back after a message
bbout a white tornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a dove in your
bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath.
The revolution will put you in the driver's seat.

The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live."
THe Revolution Will Not Be Televised

And this, too, because of the 3 fucking wars we are in:
"Thought I heard a rumbling
Calling to my name,
Two hundred million guns are loaded
Satan cries, "Take aim!"

Over on the mountain
Thunder magic spoke,
"Let the people know my wisdom,
Fill the land with smoke."
Creedence Clearwater Revival - :Run THrough The Jungle" (the imagery of those words are so vivid in my head; can't shake 'em)
(((WARNING: SERIOUSLY GRAPHIC FOOTAGE))) (This is what we saw late 60s - early 70s when we had uncensored Media. Now it's all sanitized so the soccer moms will keep voting Rethug. Some of this footage made me cry. Just like the pics of Auschwitz did when I went to the Wannsee-Konferenz house in Berlin)(I can't see shit like this anymore without getting upset and pissed off)
Sorry I ain't all touchy-feely for y'all.

"Hangman, hangman, upon your face a smile,
Tell me that I'm free to ride,
Ride for many mile, mile, mile."

"Oh yes, you got a fine sister, She warmed my blood from cold,
She warmed my blood to boiling hot to keep you from the Gallows Pole,
Your brother brought me silver, Your sister warmed my soul,
But now I laugh and pull so hard, see you swinging from the Gallows Pole."

If I gotta say who this is, there's no hope for ya....

It starts out like a murmur
Then it grows like thunder
Until it bursts inside of you
Try to hold it steady
Wait until you're ready
Any second now will do
Throw the door wide open
Not a word is spoken
Anything that you want to do

"It's getting faster, moving faster now, it's getting out of hand,
On the tenth floor, down the back stairs, it's a no man's land,
Lights are flashing, cars are crashing, getting frequent now,
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, let it out somehow."

*hope your knee is healing nicely*

Taffy stuck, tongue tied
Stuttered shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am...fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded, and unfolded, and unfolding
I am colorblind

I'm lying in the hospital I'm pinned against the bed
A stephoscope upon my heart a hand upon my head
They're peeling off the bandages I'm wincing at the light
The nurse is looking anxious and she's quivering with fright...

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide
