I know this link has little to do with this site. However, for those readers of my verbal graffiti also know that I rarely ride my soap box into town, but some things are truly important at least to have knowledge of.
When OUR federal government can put pressure on OUR judicial system to either support or revoke a ruling it needs to be known. There is a reason why our judicial branch is separate from the other branches.
The government’s job in any country is to enhance and promote its citizens lives. A judicial system is there it protect it. I understand there are bad people out there and I’m not referring to the average middle-aged balding bar fly that hits on younger girls while his wife is away. I’ve referring to those that truly have bent wiring and no long have aspirations of life other than the infliction of pain.
But those few should NOT dictate the rest of society’s actions. Basing social policy on anomalies is like finding one person that got a new job in Michigan and saying the whole economy is now back to working order. Living our lives under worst case scenarios will end up with a world underground, in locked doors, eating ramen noodles and playing Teletubbies in the dark.
