pahunkboy -> Help- wind is dusty here- (9/14/2010 10:30:31 AM)

Hello-  I have a problem.

The wind has been moderate the past week.  I live across from the River - where there is a bank stabilization, and upgrades- put in sidewalks- lights, and new shrubs.

The dust is from the back hos- but continues even when they do not plow.

It now is becoming phlegm in my lugs with a bit of a cough.  We have about a year left to finish it.

I try keeping widows closed...

Is there anything I can do ??

go buy those cotton baby blankets, soak them in water, wring them out, and hang them like drapes....it will catch the dust.

Have you done this?

PA, some of the coughing could also be from the high pollen levels this time of year.

Put an electrostatic air filter in your HVAC... purchase some of those allergen filter masks and wear those for a while, if for nothing else than to see if they catch anything... plant large, dense trees spaced closely together between your house and the construction site to act as a natural dust barrier... maintain a diligent and frequent vacuuming, mopping, and dusting schedule inside your home.

Volunteer to help? It will be finished sooner then.

Some constructive ideas.   Thanks.

the pollen IS high.   I took a zyteck for it.

PaHunk, yes, it has to be the pollen, it's bad down here in Dixie too!
My eyes are swollen today and for the last week even (with) the Zytec! Give it a few weeks until the weather turns colder up there.

I don't know if you belong to a BJs but that is where I got my zyrtec from (the generic) a bottle of 300 pills for less than $16.00.

That is cheaper than co-pays if it was prescribed.

FR

Sounds like a bit of rain might take care of it. Rain is predicted for tomorrow in Ohio, it should rain at least some over there with any luck.

If it is only a couple day thing, you can get those cheap masks worn by contractors, such as drywallers etc. They are but pennies each, that with closing the most offending windows should do it, especially if you have AC. You might only need the masks for outside.

Usually I am low key.

I am not as active, fiesty- and into everything- but the past few days I am worse.

I will keep my eye open for good prices on zyrteck,    It is the only one that works for this allergy.

I get so that I do not bother to buy groceries- and do not bother to eat much.

I have a few problems- and the one I do not care to post on here.      Oh well.   At least I am pering up a tad this AM.

- I never heard of bjs.

- and we are in for some rain to.   Yay.  I do not mind the rain.

BJ's is one of those places like Costso... great for stocking up on some things, not so much for others.

Good if you can find a friend to split the membership fee on.

I live in a rural area.

I will have to keep my eye open.  My sister said she would grab me some coupons for it.
