Interesting how the same Dems who oppose Tea Party efforts to infuse new blood into Washinton are happy to be sending criminals to represent their interests:

Rangel Cruises To Victory

A pending trial on ethics charges was not enough to slow down 20-term Congressman Charles Rangel, who cruised to a primary victory Tuesday night. NY1’s Michael Scotto filed the following report.

Congressman Charles Rangel’s political life got a much-needed boost when he won the Democratic primary Tuesday, beating out five opponents, despite ethics charges in Washington. “I go back to Washington stronger than I’ve ever been,” Rangel said.

The criminals you know are easier to wrangle that the criminals you know are criminally insane.

But this begs the question, are the teabaggers relevant?  Some say they are, but they appear di minimous as well, in this light.

The Dems love to send that sort of character to Washington, but not just in New York.

I like Charlie Rangel because he's a Korean veteran who won the Bronze Star.
That said he has ***40*** years in that seat! He should have gotten out after 10-12 years.
We HAVE to have term limits in the congress.

Rangel has become an embarrassment and I do not understand why the Democratic leadership won't distance itself from him.  I cringed when I heard Nancy Pelosi trying to explain why his ethics violations aren't as bad as certain Republicans' ethics violations.  It's bad reasoning and even worse politics.

This is one thing we agree on Popeye.

Not only should there be term limits but the terms themselves should be changed to four years for the House and the Senate to coincide with the the election of the President.

One of the reasons nothing gets accomplished is we are in a never-ending election cycle.  As soon as we elect someone to the White House the campaigning starts for the mid-terms.  As soon as those are over the campaigning starts for the Presidential election.

{fast reply}

Greetings all....

Rangel fits very well in the Chicago model of politics. You keep electing the Democrat until their crimes are just too embarrassing to deal with or they go to jail, whichever comes first. At the Illinois state level you start adding in Republicans who have been working hand in glove with the Democrats to fleece the taxpayers.

There are times I wish I hadn't moved to the Chicago area for work and found out just how bad the political corruption here is. It used to just be a joke, sort of like making fun of Cubs fans. The problem with saying you get what you deserve is that the people who vote against the criminals are still stuck with them and suffering from their crimes.

Be well all....

Malkinius
