First, try to leave the demeaning comments outside the debate.

Second, none of those things would reflest the desire of either party to win over the other. An unopposed runner would definitely lower voter turn out. Why go vote if only one person is running?

Third, i am addressing both sides. I never stated how many Dems were running unopposed. I asked how many primaries were unopposed. There is a difference.

Maybe things are different in your neck of the woods, Tazzy, but most jurisdictions don't waste an election. There are school boards, water districts, municipal seats, local initiatives. Low turnout is a good indicator of apathy, and, in this election I suspect, despair.

Im sure there are many issues on many ballots. Could those issues be what is drawing many voters and not the "Tea Party" run?

I see all three coming out with their victory battle cries.... and its still a long election season ahead. Last i heard, the House may be up for grabs, but its a bitter battle in the senate for the GOP.

Has anyone considered what will happen if the majority of forecasts are true? GOP run House? Democratic run Senate? In my opinion, it will finally show the american people where they stand.

I will leave you gentlemen... and others... to figure that one out.

Oh, and something i didnt address. 4.5 million more than what number? That part was never addressed either. 4.5 million more than 4.5 is a huge number. 4.5 million than 100 million... not so much.

But its like 1926 all over again, except different and not at all the same, besides being of no relevance since there is no frame of reference.

But, interestingly enough if you look at the situation while laying on your belly, squinting your eyes and faced into the sun, you can almost see something relevant in a tarot card reading sort of way, know what I mean?

One thing I've been observing of the conservatives on this forum: They hate to answer direct questions with direct answers. If they can dodge, evade, step-aside, while spring forth misdirection, they will.

I asked the question on another thread:

For all you conservatives on this forum, can you declare both:

A) Mr. Obama is a US Citizen
B) Mr. Obama is a Christian

I got only one reply of 'yes', from willbedurdaddy. All the others, ducked the question. And given that its posted here, how many will re-duck the question?

I guess the world still spins on its axis, but it is getting to look alot like hail mary's and interpreting chicken bones cast haphazardly around the campfire.

joether, while I would normally be perfectly willing to answer those questions, you attitude and spin about how it is conservatives who duck and dodge (implying then that liberals answer all questions in a direct and forthright manner (PPPPPFFfffffffffftttttttt    LOLPOLOLOLOLOLOLO  Pffffffft tttt LOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOOLOLLLOLL).




4.5 million more Republicans than Democrats have showed up to the primaries.

The trend has been that Democrats get more people to primaries than Republicans, one could offer dozens of potential reasons for that trend from employment to apathy to less internal strife within one of the parties, and districts that contain huge wide spread populations vs populations that are denser and require less travel to get to a polling place.

What is different this year?
Well the largest most obvious difference is that the Republican primaries have had serious Tea Party candidates in competition for the seats. Incumbancy has been the rule and even with this tea party shift the results will remain high. Less apathy in the Republican party is certainly ONE very large factor in high republican primary numbers.

We'll see how those high primary numbers continue to hold interest when November rolls around. I'm predicting it'll hold a fair bit of that interest. I don;t think the Pelosi House, the Ried Senate and the Obama White House can talk enough to calm the angry masses. Some of those angry masses would be angry masses and would vote against whoever was in power no matter which party.

Don't assume that just because you post it, anyone bothers to read it.

Of course President Obama is a US citizen, and was born in this country. I consider the birthers as comparable to the people who spent eight years whining that Bush II wasn't really elected President in 2000. Useless, and pretty stupid, in other words.

I accept without question President Obama's statements about his religious persuasion, as I would accept the statement of belief of anyone who I consider coming from a position of good faith.


Speaking of ducked questions, Jo, have you been able to learn WHY there was an election that allowed a Republican into the Kennedy seat? I bet Ron knows.
