ORIGINAL: popeye1250 It's Sept 16 th so it's a bit early yet but a few in here are getting a little antsy like a cat before an earthquake. Is it Oct 1 st traditionally? Maybe the 2nd or 3rd? I dunno if they will until the polls show them losing worst than they realized about a week before the election. There are still a lot of unknowns in this election cycle, and things could go either way, although (despite the "what? Me Worry?" comments from the lefties) it does look bad for the left, and better for the right. I will say that if the Republicans don't take effective control of the legislative branch, then Obama is toast with one term. It also depends on how he reacts, and whether or not he can "pull a Clinton". My opinion is that he doesn't have it in him to be able to compromise and work effectively with the Republicans: he's simply too partisan, unskilled, and arrogant. But you never know, in politics. However, I'm not as concerned about whether or not the Republicans take control, as I am about how their gains will affect Obama's ability to get any more lefty judges on the Supreme Court. I think that the most important, long-term issue. Firm
