Yes, that "us" versus "them" mentality has been working so well. And I do not think that it matters whom you put on each side.

Absolutely not. The idea is to not compete with them at all. The US became strong by standing on its own.

If you can't compete with them, they won't put the jobs into your country. Sorry, but that's a pretty simple free market thing.

Sure, globalization is a good thing. Just follow the money to understand what is going on. There is a nice quote I found. I am not sure who it belongs to.
the poor complain, they always do but that's just idle chatter our system brings rewards to all at least to all who matter
